Club Med Marrakech Review
I was lucky enough to visit the stunning Club Med La Palmeraie resort in Marrakech, and it truly exceeded all expectations.
Morocco has been experiencing something of a renaissance as a holiday destination, offering year-round sunshine, vibrant culture, and breath-taking landscapes. Naturally, we were excited for this trip, and from the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special.
The resort is just a short 20-25 minute transfer from the airport, making it incredibly convenient. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the warm and welcoming staff – and even a red carpet! It was a fantastic first impression that set the tone for the entire stay.
Accommodation & Grounds
Our room was a superior garden view, and as soon as we stepped onto our balcony, we were in awe of the lush, beautifully maintained gardens. Palm groves, vibrant flowers, and tranquil greenery created an oasis of calm. Every morning, we woke up to the peaceful sounds of nature, making it the perfect sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle.
The room itself was traditionally decorated, with a small balcony overlooking a charming water fountain – an ideal spot to enjoy a morning cup of tea while soaking in the serene atmosphere.
Dining Experience
Club Med is known for its all-inclusive dining, and La Palmeraie did not disappoint. Dinner was a highlight, with tables set outside by the pool, offering an beautiful setting to enjoy an evening meal. For those who preferred, there was also an indoor dining option.
The food was spectacular, with numerous cooking stations offering a mix of traditional Moroccan cuisine and international dishes. The Moroccan food, in particular, was delicious, served in traditional terrines that enhanced the authentic experience. Of course, the wine was plentiful, as is standard with Club Med, making each meal feel even more indulgent.
Entertainment & Theme Nights
Entertainment is a signature part of the Club Med experience, and La Palmeraie delivered. Before dinner, an aperitif station was set up in the courtyard, complete with drinks, nibbles, and music.
One standout event was the Garden Party which was an exquisite evening under the stars, with lantern-lit tables draped in white tablecloths, traditional Moroccan tea, acrobatic performances, and a barbecue featuring incredible salads, fresh bread, and slow-cooked lamb prepared in the traditional way. It was simply unforgettable!
Activities & Facilities
This resort offers an incredible range of activities suitable for all ages and skill levels. Guests can take part in archery, tennis, and golf, with options available for beginners and experienced players alike. If you’re seeking a more unique experience, horseback riding and camel rides around the resort provide a fun and memorable way to explore the surroundings, proving to be a hit with both kids and adults.
The luxurious spa offers a perfect retreat for relaxation, while a charming à la carte restaurant near the spa provides an intimate dining experience. A poolside bar ensures easy access to refreshments while lounging in the sun. Although the resort doesn’t have a beach, I found I didn’t miss it at all, as the beautifully designed pool area, complete with ample umbrellas and shaded grass areas, provided the perfect spot to soak up the Moroccan sunshine.
Exploring Marrakech
One of the biggest perks of this resort is the complimentary shuttle service into Marrakech, running every hour or so. This made it incredibly easy to visit the historic Medina, explore the bustling souks, and pick up some souvenirs. For those who preferred to stay within the resort, there was also an authentic souvenir shop on-site, providing a hassle-free way to bring home a piece of Morocco.
Exclusive Collection & Family Oasis
For those looking for an elevated experience, Club Med La Palmeraie offers an Exclusive Collection Space, a secluded area within the resort featuring upscale accommodations with a private living room, outdoor space, a dedicated pool, and an exclusive restaurant and bar. If you’re looking to treat yourself, this is the way to do it!
Families traveling with children will love the Family Oasis section, designed with vibrant, kid-friendly rooms featuring separate sleeping areas, a dedicated children’s pool, and water slides. It was a hit with the little ones and made for a stress-free family vacation.
