Day 1: Arrival in Cairo
Fly to Cairo and on arrival, transfer to your hotel

Day 2: The Pyramids, Sphinx and Egyptian Museum
Drive out of the city this morning to visit the Giza Plateau, home of the iconic Great Pyramids. Nearby, you’ll find the Sphinx. Afterwards, head to a local restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Egyptian Museum, home to the artefacts found in King Tutankhamun’s tomb as well as other collections.

Day 3: Coptic Cairo and Citadel
This morning, explore Cairo’s Christian history with a visit the ‘Hanging Church’ before visiting the Ben Ezra synagogue. After lunch, enjoy a guided tour of the Citadel of Cairo, including a visit to the Mosque of Muhammad Ali and the Khan El-Khalili Souk

Day 4: Cairo to Luxor
Transfer to the airport for a flight to Luxor. On arrival, you may get the chance to visit the Luxor Library and Heritage Centre to learn more about Luxor’s history. Then, it will be time to board your cruise ship, where you’ll enjoy lunch and some time to settle into your cabin. In the evening, enjoy an evening visit to Luxor Temple, famous for its statues and the Avenue of Sphinxes which links it to Karnak Temple.

Day 5: Dendera
Today, you’ll visit the Temple of Hathor, one of the best-preserved in Egypt. Head back on board to enjoy lunch as the ship starts it afternoon of sailing to Edfu via Esna.

Day 6: Kom Ombo
Spend the morning at leisure as you continue sailing, arriving in Kom Ombo in the afternoon. Once here, visit the dual temple of Horus and Sobek before returning to the ship to sail to Aswan.

Day 7: Aswan
This morning, visit the immense Aswan High Dam, before continuing to the island of Philae, home to a temple dedicated to the goddess Isis. Then, head to the village of Gharb Soheil, whose domes houses are decorated with intricate designs. Spend some time wandering through the village before seeing the Unfinished Obelisk. After lunch back on the boat, take a short ride on a traditional felucca boat.

Day 8: Aswan
Spend a day at leisure on the ship as it remains moored in Aswan. Alternatively, visit Abu Simbel on an optional excursion* to see the spectacular temples and colossal statues. *This excursion is at an extra cost, contact us for more information or to add to your booking.

Day 9: Edfu
Enjoy a relaxed start to the day as the ship sails to Edfu. On arrival this afternoon, visit the temple of Edfu, dedicated to Horus and a fantastic glimpse into Egypt’s culture practises thanks to its intricate hieroglyphics. After time to explore, return to the ship for dinner as it sails back to Luxor.

Day 10: Temple of Karnak
In the morning, visit the Temple of Karnak, visiting the Hypostyle Hall and seeing the Obelisk of Hatshepsut. Next, head to a local papyrus workshop to learn how its made before return to the ship.

Day 11: Luxor West Bank & Valley of the Kings
Disembark the ship this morning and cross the Nile to the west bank where you’ll reach the Valley of the Kings. You’ll also visit the Colossi of Memnon, where depict Amenhotep III before visiting the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut and the Medinet Habu Temple. Then, check into your hotel this afternoon.

Day 12: Luxor
Visit the Luxor Museum this morning and see it collection of artwork and artefacts which include a double statue of Sobek and Amenhotep III and reassembled wall from a dismantled temple at Karnak. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the hotel before an included dinner this evening.

Day 13: Return home
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Sheraton Cairo Hotel, Cairo – 5*
Located on the banks of the Nile, this hotel is a short walk away from the nearest metro station. There are a range of dining options, as well as a selection of bars. Rooms here feature a furnished balcony, a tv, a desk and tea/coffee making facilities.

Steigenberger Resort Achi, Luxor – 5*
Sitting in 8 acres of tropical gardens, this hotel provides a secluded place to stay, while still being in walking distance of the city centre. There is a selection of restaurants in the hotel including an Italian and Middle Eastern restaurant. All rooms have a furnished balcony overlooking the Nile, as well as a tv, sake, desk and coffee/tea making facilities.

Steigenberger Regency – 5*
This luxurious ship features a pool with jacuzzi, a deck with lounge chairs and a library which you can enjoy while the ship is sailing between destinations. The onboard restaurant serves both Western and local cuisine, with the chefs creating curated menus to introduce you to new dishes.

You can choose between a cabin on either the Middle or upper deck, or a suite on the Middle deck. All cabins are the same size and feature double or twin beds. They have floor to ceiling windows with a French Balcony, with comfortable chairs to sit in. You’ll also find a tv, mini-bar and safe in your cabin.

Suites feature the same amenities as the cabins but have a picture window seat as well as a French Balcony. You’ll also find a separate lounge area to relax in.
