Days 1-2: Fly overnight to Beijing
Head to the airport for an overnight flight to Beijing. On arrival, the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Imperial Beijing
Start the day with a visit to Tiananmen Square, from which you’ll head to the Forbidden City to see the complex’s imperial treasures. This afternoon, spend some time wandering through the traditional hutongs before sitting down to a dinner of Peking duck.

Day 4: The Great Wall
This morning, you’ll get to visit of the world’s most famous landmarks: the Great Wall. A walk along the wall is a great way to appreciate its sheer size and magnificence. Visit a jade factory before spending the afternoon at the Summer Palace, with free time stroll through the idyllic traditional gardens.

Day 5: Alleyways of the Muslim Quarter
Take a bullet train to Xian, the ancient former capital. On arrival, take a walking tour of the Muslim Quarter. During the tour, you’ll learn about the city’s history as a starting point of the Silk Road. In the evening, enjoy a feast of dumplings, followed by a Tang Dynasty dance performance.

Day 6: Terracotta Warriors & Beer Tasting
Spend the morning viewing the magnificent Terracotta Army before visiting the Xian Art Ceramics and Lacquer Workshop. Later in the day, take a stroll along the ancient city walls before heading to a local brewery for a tour and tasting

Day 7: Fly to Guilin
Take a flight south to the city of Guilin. Later, discover the colourful Reed Flute Cave

Day 8: Li River Cruise
Embark on a relaxing cruise along the Li River to Yangshou. Along the way, admire the breathtaking views of the karst peaks looming over the rural landscape

Day 9: Yangshou Countryside & Tai Chi
Start your day with a Tai Chi lesson before taking a tour of the countryside surrounding Yangshou. The afternoon is at leisure.

Day 10: Chongqing Hot Springs
Leaving the countryside behind, take a bullet train to Chongqing. On arrival, spend the afternoon at one of the city’s top hot springs. Alternatively, you can enjoy free time to explore the Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, home to designer boutiques and street food stalls.

Day 11: Dazu Carvings & Drone Show
Head out to Dazu, home to the UNESCO listed Dazu Rock Carvings. Admire the thousands of Buddhist, Taoist and Confucianist idols and symbols carved into the rock at over 70 sites. Returning to Chongqing, watch the Glamourous Drone Show this evening, where over 5,000 synchronised drones illuminate the sky line

Day 12: Giant Pandas
This morning, you’ll get the chance to see the beloved Giant Pandas as the Chongqing Zoo’s Panda House. After, wander through the streets of Ciqikou, home to tea houses and craft shops. Continue to the Liziba intersection, where metro trains pass through a residential building. Later, head to the port to board your Yangtze River Cruise

Day 13: Cruise the Yangtze
Spend the day sailing along the might Yangtze. You’ll have the option to relax on board, or head shore to explore the pavilions of Mount Shuanggui and see the cliff brushing writings of Song Dynasty calligraphers

Day 14: Cruise through the Three Gorges
Your cruise ship enters the Three Gorges this morning, passing through the Wu Gorge, known for its forest-covered mountains and the Qutang Gorge, the most dramatic. Today, you’ll also take a cruise along the Goddess stream on a smaller ship

Day 15: Three Gorges Dam
Today, visit the Three Gorges Dam, the largest hydroelectric dam in the world. While here, visit the small museum and admire the structure from the viewing platform. Disembark your cruise ship and drive to Zhangjiajie.

Day 16: Discover Zhangjiajie
Start your day with a ride in Bailong Glass elevator, which soars up the mountain to 326 metres. From here, soak up the views of the ‘First Bridge under the Sun’ and Hallelujah Mountains. Continue to Emperor Mountain and Helong Park, before taking a cable car back down. Finish the day with a ride on the sightseeing train through the Ten-Mile Natural Gallery, passing between the sandstone pillars.

Day 17: Zhangjiajie’s Glass Bridge
Today, you’ll experience the national park’s Grand Canyon. Take an exhilarating walk across the Glass Bridge, the world’s longest and highest. Then, head to the bottom of the gorge to cruise along Rainbow Lake. This evening, see the 72 Strange Buildings of Qilou

Day 18: Tianmen Mountain & Glass Skywalk
Head up to the heights of Tianmen Mountain on China’s longest cable car, a journey of 7-kilometres. Once atop the mountain, admire Tianmen Cave, nicknamed ‘Heaven’s Door’, which can be reached by climbing 999 steps. Take walk along the glass skywalk before transferring to the airport for a flight to Shanghai

Day 19: Bustling Shanghai
Begin your exploration of Shanghai with a visit to the Yu Gardens and the old towns. Then, head to the Bund to admire the colonial architecture before visiting a silk mill. Afterwards, go up to the top of the Jin Mao Tower for incredible views of the city. This evening, take a cruise on the Huangpu River and enjoy a farewell dinner of Shanghainese cuisine.
