Days 1- 2: Fly overnight to Shanghai
Take an overnight flight to Shanghai. On arrival, the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Explore Shanghai
Explore the city today, starting at the Yu Garden before visiting a silk mill and the old town. From here, take a walk along the Bund to admire the colonial era architecture. In the evening, take a cruise on the Huangpu River to admire the city from the water.

Day 4: Yellow Mountain
Board a bullet train to Huangshan City. Once there, take a cable car up to the summit of Mount Huang where you’ll be staying overnight. Spend the afternoon exploring the area.

Day 5: Mount Huang Sunrise
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over Mount Huang before heading back down by cable car. Continue to the town of Tunxi where you’ll wander along its cobbled streets to discover pretty little shops.

Day 6: Hongcun Village & Dumpling Making
Travel to Hongcun, a village known for its well-preserved Hui-style architecture. Learn about its water systems before a cooking class where you’ll learn how to make pouch dumplings.

Day 7: Bullet train to Changsha
This morning, take a bullet train to Changsha. In the evening, stroll through the night market to see the variety of street food.

Day 8: Explore Changsha
Visit the Yuelu Academy, a hub of learning at the foot of Mount Yuelu before travelling to Zhangjiajie National Park by road to get your first glimpse of its breath-taking scenery

Day 9: Discover Zhangjiajie
Explore the breathtaking Yuanjiajie, known for its misty valleys and towering pillars. Take a ride up the Bailong glass elevator, which goes up a 326-metre mountain side and gives you the chance to view the ‘First Bridge under the Sun’ and Hallelujah Mountain. Enjoy some time to explore at Emperor Mountain before descending by cable car.

Day 10: Tianmen Mountain
Head up to Tianmen Mountain by scenic cable car. On arrival, visit Tianmen Cave or ‘Heaven’s Door’ which stands at the top of a 999-step staircase. You can also take a thrilling walk on a glass skywalk if you wish.

Day 11: Bullet Train to Guilin
Take a bullet train to Guilin today.

Day 12: Li River Cruise
Start the day with a relaxed cruise on the Li River to Yangshuo, taking in the views as you sail past the karst peaks. Disembark and spend some time exploring the markets before relaxing with a Chinese reflexology massage.

Day 13: Yangshuo Countryside
Spend the morning exploring the landscapes around Yangshuo before having the afternoon free to spend as you wish.

Day 14: Zhaoxing Village
Return to Guilin where you’ll board a bullet train to Zhaoxing. This large village, considered one of China’s most beautiful, offers a glimpse into the life of the Dong people. You’ll be welcomed into the village with a special ceremony before having the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 15: Rice Terraces & Batik Making
Travel to the top of the nearby stepped rice terraces, walking through them to admire their engineering and the views. In the afternoon, take part in a batik workshop and create your own special souvenir.

Day 16: Train to Chengdu
Take the bullet train to Chengdu, a city which offers a blend of modernity and tradition

Day 17: Giant Pandas
Visit Chengu’s famous Panda Conservation Base to see some of the bears and learn about them. Then, take the bullet train to Xian.

Day 18: Terracotta Army
This morning, visit the Terracotta Army and admire the statues before visiting a workshop to see how they are re-created. Then, head back to the city to take a walk around the beautifully preserved old city walks, pausing for a beer tasting at a local brewery. In the evening, enjoy a dumpling dinner and a Tang Dynasty dancing show.

Day 19: Train to Beijing
Today, board a train to Beijing, China’s capital.

Day 20: Imperial Beijing
Begin a day of exploration at Tiananmen Square before heading into the Forbidden City to admire part of its 250-acre maze of palaces and gardens. Then, take a strong the hutongs, the city’s historic neighbourhoods to learn about life in the area. Later, dine on a local delicacy, Peking Duck.

Day 21: The Great Wall
Today, visit the iconic Great Wall, getting the chance to walk along a section and taking in the views. After, visit a jade factory before spending the afternoon exploring the gardens of the Summer Palace.

Transfer to the airport for your flight home, arriving the same or following day.
