Day 1: UK – In flight
You will be collected from your home by Titan Travel’s VIP service ahead of the flight to Kolkata.
Day 2: Kolkata
After arriving in Kolkata, check into your luxury hotel and spend the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Day 3: Kolkata
Take a guided tour of Kolkata to see some of the key sights. See the bright flower markets, admire the monument to Queen Victoria and visit Mother House where Mother Teresa lived. Take a drive around Dalhousie Square before taking a rickshaw ride to the markets this afternoon, followed by a relaxing cruise on the Hooghly River.

Day 4: Darjeeling
Take a short flight to Bagdogra. From here, drive a few hours to Darjeeling.

Day 5: Darjeeling
Start early at Tiger Hill for a stunning Himalayan sunrise, then visit the Himalayan Zoological Park, Mountaineering Institute, and Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre. In the afternoon, enjoy mountain views from Observatory Hill and visit Bhutia Busty Monastery.

Day 6: Ghoom – Darjeeling
Enjoy a ride on the UNESCO-listed toy train with its iconic steam-powered carriages to Ghoom, the highest station on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. Here, you’ll visit the Yiga Choeling Monastery, home to a gold-painted Buddha and rare manuscripts. The afternoon is free back in Darjeeling, with an option to explore the market and enjoy street food dumplings.

Day 7: Phuentsholing
The journey continues to Bhutan – a land of tradition and spirituality, for the second half of your adventure.

Day 8: Thimphu
Drive through scenic mountains and waterfalls to Thimphu, the world’s third-highest capital. In the afternoon, visit the Textile Museum to learn about Bhutanese weaving, then head to Zilukha Nunnery. We explore Tashichho Dzong, with its gardens and temples, before browsing local crafts at a nearby bazaar.

Day 9: Thimphu
Begin the day at the Memorial Chorten, a place of daily worship, before visiting the giant Buddha Dordenma statue. Next, you’ll head to the Royal Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s national animal. After lunch at Simply Bhutan, visit the National Institute for Zorig Chusum and return to Zilukha Nunnery for a tea-offering ceremony. The day ends with a cultural dance performance.

Day 10: Tango Monastery and Pangri Zampa
Start the day with a visit to Tango Monastery, dating back to the 12th century, perched above Thimphu Chhu River. After a scenic hour-long walk, you’ll gain fascinating insight into the Lama Drukpa Kuenley and Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel. Next, head to Pangri Zampa, a 16th-century monastery that teaches Lamaism and astrology, before returning to the hotel with the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 11: Punakha
Today, enjoy a drive through forested hills to Punakha, Bhutan’s former capital, before visiting Chimi Lhakhang, a temple with stunning views. You’ll then have the opportunity to explore Punakha Dzong, Bhutan’s second-oldest and largest monastery.

Day 12: Paro
Spend two nights in Paro, exploring its cultural heritage. You’ll start at the National Museum, showcasing 1,500 years of Bhutanese art, before visiting the impressive Rinpung Dzong with stunning valley views. In the evening, we enjoy an archery lesson at a local farmhouse, followed by a traditional dinner. The day concludes with a tour and beer tasting at Namgay Artisanal Brewery.

Day 13: Tiger’s Nest Monastery
A highlight of our Bhutan tour is visiting the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, perched on a cliff above Paro Valley. Hike to a viewpoint for stunning views of the monastery, named after the second Buddha, Padmasambhava. For those seeking a challenge, you can continue to the monastery itself, a steep five to six-hour hike. In the afternoon, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, built on the foot of a demoness in Bhutanese myth.

Day 14: Paro – Kolkata
