Day 1: UK – In flight

Day 2: Chennai

Upon arriving in the bustling city of Chennai, take time to familiarise yourself with your hotel before independently exploring this historic city.

Gain insights into Chennai’s colonial era history and architecture while on a planned city tour. From here, the adventure will continue to Mamallapuram.

Your fourth day consists of an exploration of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the morning, before an afternoon and evening at your own leisure. Why not use this free time to join an optional excursion to experience the Dakshina Chitra Heritage Museum?

Day 5: Auroville – Puducherry

While en route to the vibrant city of Puducherry, there will be a scheduled visit to Auroville Visitor Centre and Matrimandir temple.

Day 6: Puducherry

The next destination on your Southern Indian exploration is the impressive city of Puducherry. Experience Puducherry’s vibrant atmosphere, as well as its captivating architecture, while on a city, which includes an exciting cycle rickshaw ride.

Day 7: Thanjavur

The next stage of the itinerary see you travel from Puducherry to Thanjavur, with a stop on the way to visit the incredible Chidambaram Temple. Following this, you will then have an opportunity to explore another captivating piece of architecture in the form of Brihadishvara Temple.

Day 8: Trichy – Madurai

After your memorable experiences in Thanjavur, you will then head to Madurai. During the transit, the tour will pause at the colourful town of Trichy, whereby you’ll visit the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, before arriving in Madurai and settling into your next hotel.

Day 9: Madurai

Today is jam-packed with excursions and visits, with scheduled trips to the local flower market, Meenakshi Amman Temple and Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace during the morning, before an afternoon at your own leisure.

Day 10: Periyar

Enjoy a unique visit to a traditional spice garden upon arriving in Periyar.

Day 11: Periyar

Commence day 11 with an immersive nature walk through Periyar National Park. Alternatively, instead of participating in the nature walk, travellers are offered the chance to take part in a half-day of bamboo rafting.

Day 12: Kumarakom

Travel to the scenic Kumarakom and check into your luxurious resort hotel. Choose to relax and indulge in the resort’s excellent facilities, or join an optional Kumarakom village walk.

Day 13: Kumarakom

Day 14: Kochi

The journey now heads to the culturally historic Kochi, where you’ll check in to your hotel on arrival. During the evening, prepare yourself for a remarkable experience as you marvel at the Kathakali dance show in Kochi.

Explore more of Kochi while on a guided Heritage walk of Fort Kochi on the morning of the tour’s final day. Afterwards, pay a visit to Dutch Palace and Jewish Synagogue in the afternoon.
