Day 1: UK – In Flight
Transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to Delhi
Day 2: Delhi
Upon arrival in Delhi, transfer to your hotel for a relaxing afternoon before meeting for dinner.

Day 3: Delhi
Spend today exploring both Old and New Delhi on a guided tour. In the morning, make your way through Chandni Chowk, Delhi’s biggest market before seeing the Jama Masjid Mosque and the Red Fort. Later, head to New Delhi, passing the presidential palace and the India Gate. You’ll stop to visit Raj Ghat, the final resting place of Gandhi and the Qutab Minar.

Day 4: Delhi to Jaipur
Leave Delhi this morning and travel to the Pink City of Jaipur on the Amjer Shatabdi Express. Upon arrival in the city, the rest of the day is at leisure. You may wish to join an optional excursion to learn kite flying and have a delicious high tea.

Day 5: Jaipur
Today’s tour begins at the immense Amber Fort. Here you’ll explore the halls, gardens and courtyards. Returning to the city, visit the Jantar Mantar and pass the Hawa Mahal, ‘the Palace of the Winds’.

Day 6: Jaipur to Ranthambore
Traveling by express train, head to Sawai Madhopur, the gateway to Ranthambore National Park. Upon arrival, the rest of the day is free for you to relax at the hotel. Alternatively, you can join a guided nature walk or visit nearby Dastkar to see the handicrafts produced by the women of the village.

Day 7: Ranthambore
Enjoy two safari drives today, keeping an eye out for the park’s tigers and leopards, as well as hyenas, water buffalo and crocodiles.

Day 8: Ranthambore to Agra
This morning, board the Shatabdi train to Bharatpur and then drive into Agra. After lunch, take a guided tour of the city, beginning at the Agra Fort. Then visit the nearby tomb of I’timad-ud-Daulah – a royal tomb built in the same style as the Taj Mahal. In the evening, there is an optional excursion to watch the Mohabbat the Taj show.

Day 9: Agra to Delhi
Wake up early this morning to arrive at the Taj Mahal in time for the sunrise. Take a guided tour before returning to the hotel for breakfast. After, drive back to Delhi

Day 10: Delhi to Amritsar
Take a train north to the city of Amritsar, whose glittering temples are holy pilgrimage sites for Sikhs. The afternoon is at leisure, however you can join an optional trip to the Partition Museum

Day 11: Amritsar
Your tour of Amritsar brings you to Jallianwala Bagh, a memorial to the Indians killed by British troops in 1919. You’ll also visit a local bazaar and the Silver Temple. This afternoon, travel to the border town of Wagah to see the changing of the guard, involving both Indian and Pakistani troops. In the evening, visit the Golden Temple, where you’ll visit a community kitchen that feeds thousands of pilgrims.

Day 12: Amritsar to Chandigarh
Travel to the city of Chandigarh today, and take a tour to admire its modernist architecture, the Rose Gardens and Sukhana, a popular boating lake with views of the Himalayas.

Day 13: Chandigarh to Shimla
Board the Kalka-Shimla toy train, part of the World Heritage Mountain Railway. Winding your way up from the plains to the foothills of the Himalayas, you’ll arrive in the city of Shimla.

Day 14: Shimla
This morning, visit the Hindu temples of Sankat Mochan and Jakhu before learning about Shimla’s colonial past at the former summer house of the British Viceroy. This is where the Partition Agreement of 1947 was signed. The afternoon is free to continue exploring or to relax at the hotel.

Day 15: Shimla to Delhi
Drive back to Chandigarh where you’ll board the Shatabdi Express back to Delhi

Day 16: Delhi to UK
