Days 1-2: Fly to Delhi
Fly overnight to Delhi. On arrival, spend the rest of the day as you wish, whether relaxing or beginning to explore.

Day 3: Discover Delhi
Take a city tour today, starting in Old Delhi and a rickshaw ride through the streets. First, head to the Khari Baoli Spice Market before visiting the Jama Masjid mosque. Later in the day, cross into New Delhi. See India Gate and the Presidential House before ending the day seeing Humayun’s Tomb and the Qutab Minar.

Day 4: Travel to Agra
Travel to Agra. On arrival, tour Agra Fort, wandering its hallways and gardens, before heading on to the ramparts to get a glimpse of the Taj Mahal.

Day 5: Taj Mahal Sunrise
Awake early to experience the sun rise over the magnificent Taj Mahal. After breakfast, visit a marble inlay workshop to see artisans crafting designs. Leave Agra behind this after, heading to Gwailor. Take a tour of the city, visiting its fortress, the Gujari Mahal Archaeological Museum, Tansen’s Tom and the Jai Vilas Palace.

Day 6: Travel to Khajuraho
Board a train to Jhansi then drive to Khajuraho. On route, stop at Orchha to visit its temple. Once in Khajuraho to explore more temples. Today, you’ll see the eastern and western group of temples.

Day 7:  Travel to Varanasi
Transfer to the airport and fly to Varanasi. Spend the afternoon at leisure before taking a rickshaw ride through the city. Later in the evening, witness the Aart Ceremony

Day 8: Discover Varanasi
This morning, take a boat ride past Varanasi’s famous ghats before explore the city more. In the afternoon, head to Sarnath to see the ancient Buddhist sites.

Day 9: Fly to Kolkata
Head to the airport for a flight to Kolkata.

Day 10: Board your cruise
Transfer to the jetty and board your river cruise vessel. Start sailing upstream on the Hooghly River, passing under the iconic Howrah Bridge. Tonight, moor near Bally Bridge.

Day 11: Cruise to Bandel
Spend the day cruising along the river, with a stop to visit the Hooghly Imambara mosque.

Day 12: Rajbari Temple Complex
Continue to Kalna. Here, take shore excursions that will include a rickshaw ride to the Rajbari Temples. Here, explore the carvings depicting Hindu epics. Return to the ships, passing through a local market.

Day 13: Local Village Walk
This morning, sail towards Nadabwip, enjoying the facilities onboard. Later, walk through a riverside village to see rural life and visit artisans who handloom cotton fabric. Cross the river to Mayapur, headquarters of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. Stroll through the pilgrim’s bazaar.

Day 14: Visit Artisans
Sail to Guptipara and head into the town to see rice paddies and mango plantations. Then, visit the town’s Vaishnav temples before visiting the home of a potter to see artisans work with clay. Cross the river to the village of Fulia to meet more artisans who specialise in jacquard and jamdani sarees.

Day 15: Chandernagore
Return downstream and cruise to Chandernagore, a former French colony. Stroll down the promenade and admire the architecture, visiting the grand French governor’s residence and the Sacred Heart church. Continue to Kolkata, stopping at Serampore. See its Danish tavern and St Olav’s Church.

Day 16: Back in Kolkata
Disembark the vessel in the morning and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 17: Fly to UK
Transfer to the airport and fly to the UK. Arrive home the same or following day.
