Embark on an unforgettable journey through two remarkable ancient civilizations. Travel overland across China, from the panda-filled city of Chengdu to the vibrant capital, Beijing. Then, take to the skies, flying from one legendary capital to another—Tokyo—where your adventure continues aboard the Celebrity Millennium cruise ship. Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of these fascinating destinations, visiting iconic landmarks such as the Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors, Mount Fuji, and Kyoto’s stunning temples.
Throughout your cruise, when your ship comes into port, there will be a range of excursions available to help you explore each destination. These excursions are at your own expense and are bookable on your cruise reservation
Days 1-2: Arrive in Chengdu
Fly overnight to Chengdu. Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to the hotel. The remainder of the day is a leisure.

Day 3: Visit the Pandas
Say hello to the city’s most famous residents, the Giant Pandas. You’ll visit the Dujiangyan Panda Base where you can learn about these brilliant animals and see them in their natural habitat. The rest of the day is free.

Day 4: Travel to Xian
Leave Chengdu and take the bullet train to Xian. On arrival, you’ll visit the lively Muslim Quarter before having the rest of the day to spend as you wish.

Day 5: Explore Xian
Come face to face with the Terracotta Warriors today before visiting a workshop to see artisans creating miniatures in the same style. Later, stroll along Xian’s medieval walls. End the day with a dumpling demonstration and banquet before watching a Tang Dynasty show.

Day 6: Travel to Pingyao
Transfer to the train station after breakfast and travel to Pingyao. This city is a living museum, home to beautifully preserved city walls dating back to the 14th Century.

Day 7: Travel to Beijing
This morning, take a tour of the Pingyao including a visit to the Rishengchang Financial House Museum. Afterwards, take a bullet train to Beijing.

Day 8: Walk the Great Wall
Head out of the city to visit the Great Wall of China. Learn about its history before taking a walk along a short section to admire the structure. Stop at a jade factory before visiting the Sacred Way and Ming Tombs. Return to Beijing in the evening and enjoy a thrilling acrobatic show.

Day 9: Explore Beijing
Today, visit Tiananmen Square and the magnificent Forbidden City. Then head to the Temple of Heaven. This evening, dine on Peking Duck.

Day 10: Beijing to Tokyo
Transfer to the airport for a flight to Tokyo. On arrival, transfer to your hotel, with the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 11: Explore Tokyo
Embark on a full day tour to Tokyo, beginning at Sensoji, the oldest temple in the city. Then, ascend the Tokyo Skytree to admire the city’s skyline. For lunch, you’ll prepare your own sushi under the guidance of a sushi chef. In the afternoon, take a stroll through the Imperial Palace Park before visiting the Meiji Shrine. Finish the tour with a trip to Takeshita Street to try local snacks and to Shibuya Crossing for a photo op.

Day 12: Board the Celebrity Millenium
After breakfast, head to Yokohama to board your cruise ship. Enjoy the rest of the day to settle into your cabin and begin exploring the ship.

Day 13: Cruise – Explore Shimizu*
Your cruise’s first port of call is Shimizu, where you’ll be ideally located for viewing Mount Fuji and exploring the area around its base.

Day 14: Cruise – Explore Kyoto*
Arrive in Osaka, the closest port to Kyoto. As Japan’s former capital, it’s home to an abundance of history and culture to discover as well as delicious cuisine.

Day 15: Cruise – Kyoto*
Enjoy another day docked in Osaka, giving you more time to explore Kyoto. Alternatively, you can relax onboard the ship.

Day 16: Cruise – Explore Kochi*
Today’s port of call is Kochi, home to a UNESCO Global Geopark coastline and a 400-year old castle to explore.

Day 17: Cruise – At Sea*
Spend a day enjoying the onboard activities and facilities as you cruise across the Sea of Japan

Day 18: Cruise – Explore Busan*
Say hello to South Korea as the ship docks in Busan. Here you’ll find beaches and hot springs to enjoy as well as a lively city to explore.

Day 19: Cruise – Explore Nagasaki*
Today you’re back in Japan and docked in Nagasaki, with forested islands and unspoilt beaches to explore.

You’ll arrive in the city of Kagoshima today, which is near the Sakurajima volcano. Here you can discover rich history and delicious food.

Day 22: Cruise – Explore Tokyo*

Day 23: Disembark the Celebrity Millenium
Bid farewell to the Celebrity Millenium and disembark. You’ll be met by a guide and transferred to your hotel in Tokyo.

Transfer to the airport after breakfast for your flight back to the UK. Arrive home the same or following day.
