Start your day in the dramatic alpine scenery of Ala-Archa National Park in the Tian Shan Mountains, enjoying an easy walk amid peaks, streams, and gorges. Return to Bishkek for lunch, then explore Central Square, the Manas Monument, and a lively bazaar. In the evening, attend the spectacular Opening Ceremony of the VI World Nomad Games.

Day 4: Issyk Kul Lake
Drive to the northern shore of Issyk-Kul, the world’s second-largest mountain lake, famed for its never-freezing salty waters. Enjoy a boat ride, then check in to your Cholpon-Ata hotel for a two-night stay.

Day 5: World Nomad Games
Spend a full day at the 2026 World Nomad Games at the Cholpon-Ata Hippodrome, immersing yourself in traditional nomadic sports. Watch the high-speed action of Kok-Boru, the strength and skill of horseback wrestling (Er Enish), along with archery and eagle-hunting demonstrations. The atmosphere is electric with thundering hooves and cheering crowds. Programme subject to change.

Day 6: Cheese Tasting, Hot Springs & Dine with a Uyghur Family

After breakfast, travel east along Issyk-Kul to Karakol, stopping in Tup to tour the village and taste Kurut, the region’s salty dried cheese. On arrival, visit the Dungan Mosque, wooden Russian Orthodox Church, and local bazaar, then relax in a hot spring. In the evening, enjoy a home-cooked Uyghur dinner of lagman. Overnight in Karakol.

Day 7: Jeti-Oguz Gorge & Yurt Stay
After breakfast, follow the scenic southern shore of Issyk-Kul to Tamga, stopping at the dramatic Jeti-Oguz Gorge to see the red sandstone “Broken Heart” and “Seven Bulls” and enjoy an easy one-hour walk. After lunch, continue to Tamga and check in to your ensuite yurt camp for a two-night stay.

Day 8: Skazka Canyon & Barskoon Gorge
Spend the day exploring Skazka Canyon with its striking red rock formations, then visit Kadji-Sai village for lunch with a local musical family and a folklore performance. In the afternoon, see the ‘Tears of the Snow Leopard’ waterfall in Barskoon Gorge, and return to the yurt camp for a hands-on manty cooking class.

Day 9: Meet an Eagle Hunter
After breakfast in your yurt, travel to Chon-Kemin Nature Park, stopping to meet an eagle hunter and see the birds in training. Visit Kyzyl-Tuu village to learn yurt-making from a local family and enjoy lunch with them before continuing to Chon-Kemin for an overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 10: Cook Traditional Kyrgyz Bread
Begin with a walk in Chon-Kemin Nature Park, then join a hands-on Boorsok (traditional bread) cooking class for lunch. Travel to Bishkek, stopping at Burana Tower and its open-air museum, before checking into your hotel. Enjoy free time, followed by a farewell dinner and drinks. Overnight in Bishkek.
