Day 1 – Departure

Travel to the airport for your flight to Kuala Lumpur

Day 2 – Arrive in Malaysia

Arrive in Malacca around lunchtime and enjoy a meal at a local restaurant. After checking into the hotel, near to the Jonker Walk Night Market that you can explore in your free time later in the afternoon.

Day 3 – Malacca

In the morning, tour Malacca, including a visit to Dutch square and travel past the Tan Beng Swee Clock then proceed to St Paul Hill Complex to see the replica of the Palace of Malacca. There is also an included optional visit to the Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum, displaying artifacts of the descendants of Chinese traders who migrated to Malacca. After lunch, enjoy the chance to explore at your own pace. Alternatively, take an optional visit to the Magic Art 3D museum.

Day 4 – Train to Kuala Lumpur

Travel by train to Kuala Lumpur before driving to Batu Caves. Climb the 272 vibrantly coloured steps to the Temple Cave and visit its various temples. After a banana leaf lunch, return to Kuala Lumpur for an orientation tour, starting at the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. After, travel to Independence Square, St Mary’s Cathedral, Sin Sze Si Ya Temple and Sri Maha Mariamman. In the evening, take the opportunity to explore at your leisure.

Day 5 – Free day

Spend a day at leisure, either exploring Kuala Lumpur or joining one of the optional excursions. Learn about beekeeping or visit an elephant sanctuary or spend a whole day discovering rural life in Kuala Selangor.

Day 6 – Journey to Cameron Highlands

Leave Kuala Lumpur and head north into the Cameron Highlands. Cross hills carpeted with tea plantations before stopping at the Lata Iskandar waterfalls and visiting a traditional Orang Ali village. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before checking into the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 7 – Cameron highlights

Take a 4×4 drive through the tea plantations towards Gunung Brinchang, the second-highest mountain in the area. Learn about tea conservation and take aa guided nature walk through Mossy Forest, a cloud rainforest. Visit Sungai Pala tea factory for a tour and tasting session. After lunch, head to Butterfly Farm and the Time Tunnel museum to learn about the Highlands’ history.

Day 8 – Journey to Langkawi

Head to Penang to take an afternoon ferry to the island of Langkawi for a coastal beach stay.

Days 9-12 – Beach stay

Spend the next few days relaxing on the beach or enjoying the hotel’s facilities. During your time on the island, you can enjoy optional excursions such as a half day Langkawi discovery tour, a sunset dinner cruise or an exploration cruise of the mangroves.

Day 13 – Return flight

Transfer to the airport for the return flight home, via Kuala Lumpur

Day 14 – Arrive Home

Arrive back in the UK.

Cameron Highlands Resort – 5*

Step back in time in this uniquely-styled colonial building with a dining room, bar, tearoom, spa and gym. Located in the heart of the hill station in the central highlands, in the state of Perak and Pahang, the hotel is approximately 124 miles from Kuala Lumpur. The hotel was originally a cottage dating back to the 1930s and was extended in the 1970s, transforming it into the hotel it is today. With a cooler climate, this area was nicknamed a ‘little piece of England’ in bygone colonial days.

Park Royal Langkawi Resort – 5*

Newly opened in 2023, the hotel features unpretentious comfort with earthy modern furnishings with four dining options, so there is plenty of choices. Outdoor dining is an option within the beachside lounge, as well as the indoor, all-day dining restaurant. Alternatives include the evening speciality restaurant and the Sky pool and terrace boasting panoramic coastal views of Pantai Tengah.

Mobility
Whilst the travelling schedule shall pose no problems for people of any age in normal physical health, we would point out that we enjoy several walking tours of historical sites which include uphill steps are woodland walk with some uneven surfaces. Therefore, this holiday may not be suitable for clients of greatly impaired mobility.
