Days 1-2: Fly overnight to Ulaanbaatar
Take an overnight flight to Mongolia’s capital city, Ulaanbaatar. Met your guide on arrival and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax or start exploring.

Day 3: Explore Ulaanbaatar
Start the day with a visit to Gandan Monastery, the largest and most important in the country. Witness the morning chants and learn about Mongolia Buddhism. From here, head to the heart of the city to stand in Genghis Khan Square and see the exhibits in the National Museum of Mongolia. In the evening, enjoy a cultural show featuring traditional music and dances.

Day 4: Terelj National Park
Depart the city and head to Terelj National Park. Stop enroute to see the immense Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue Complex. Continue to the national park where you’ll see the iconic Turtle Rock and visit Aryabal Temples. End your day at your premium ger camp with leisure time to stargaze and enjoy the sauna.

Day 5: Travel to the Gobi Desert
Transfer to the airport after breakfast for a flight to Dalanzadgad, the gateway to the Gobi Desert. Begin your sightseeing with a visit to a local market before driving to the Yol Valley in the Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park. Take a scenic walk through the gorge before another night in a ger camp.

Day 6: Through the Gobi
Travel across striking desert plains to reach the towering sand dunes of Khongoryn Els. Explore on foot, with the option to climb to the top. Dine tonight under the starry sky.

Day 7: Sand Dunes of Khongoryn Els
Spend a full day exploring the dunes, admiring the sands and oases. Visit a nomadic camel herding family to learn about their way of life. In the afternoon, enjoying some free time before a traditional Mongolian dinner.

Day 8: Flaming Cliffs of Bayanzag
Drive to Bayanzag, to admire the red sandstone cliffs. Take a walk through the Gobi Dinosaurs Cemetery before a guided walk to discover the area’s rich paleontological history.

Day 9: Ongiin Hiid
Travel across the Gobi to reach Ongiin Khiid, a monastery on the banks of the Ongi River. Wander around the ruins and take a walk around the site to learn about the area’s past.

Day 10: Orkhon Waterfall
Leave the desert and head back into the grassy hinterlands, stopping in Arvaikheer for lunch. Continue north to reach the Orkhon Waterfall, which you can admire at sunset.
Day 11: Experience Mongolia’s Heritage
Immerse yourself in Mongolia’s rich traditions and witness a mini Naadam festival. Watch a wrestling match and a horse race before learning archery. End the day by presenting the winners with their medals and enjoying an authentic stone-grilled mutton feast.

Day 12: Discover Kharkorin
Drive to Kharkhorin to explore the Orkhon Valley. Discover the ruins of Karakorum, Genghis Khan’s ancient capital before visiting the museum and walking through the ground of the Erdene Zuu Monastery.

Day 13: Khustai National Park
Arrive in Khustai National Park, home to the wild takhi horses. Once extinct in the wild, these animals now roam the area. Settle into camp and admire the open steppe.

Day 14: Return to Ulaanbaatar
Spend the morning exploring the national park before returning to Ulaanbaatar. The afternoon is at leisure before gathering for a farewell dinner at a traditional restaurant.

Day 15: Depart Ulaanbaatar
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to UK which arrives the same or following day.
