This enchanting itinerary promises an enthralling expedition through the cultural legacy, historic towns, peaceful lakes, verdant scenery, and lively fauna of the nation. Discover the awe-inspiring wonders of Polonnaruwa’s history and the iconic strength of Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Delight in the serene grace of Sorabora Lake and venture into the untamed expanse of Yala National Park. Each stop unveils a distinctive aspect of Sri Lanka’s captivating allure and rich variety.

Day 1-2: Fly to Colombo
Fly to Colombo. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your National Escort and embark on a transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure

Day 3: Explore Colombo
After breakfast, take a tour of the city. Wander through the Cinnamon Gardens, visit the iconic Lotus Tower, the Fort area and the Dutch church of Wolfendhal. Following this, enjoy a food walk which gives you a chance to savour over 10 local foods.

Day 4: Discover Polonnaruwa
Travel to Dambulla and check into your hotel. Later, head to Polonnaruwa, stopping for lunch at Priyamali Gedara on the way. After some time exploring, return to your hotel.

Day 5: Visit Sigiriya
Today, visit the well-known Sigiriya Rock Fortress, built in the 5th Century. Afterwards, visit Hiriwaduna Village for an authentic lunch and cultural experience. Later on, take a catamaran ride on the lake before heading to explore Wasgamuwa National Park.

Day 6: Mahiyanganaya
Journey towards Mahiyanganaya, stopping at the remarkable Dambulla Cave Temple. After admiring its collection of Buddha statues, continue to Mahiyanganaya, before visiting Vedda Village.

Day 7: Sorabora and Maduru Oya
Start the day with breakfast at Sorabora Lake, followed by a scenic boat journey at Sorabora Wewa. There’s time to relax before visiting Maduru Oya National Park, known for its diverse wildlife.

Day 8: Kandy
Venture to the city of Kandy, where the rest of the day is at leisure. In the evening, visit the Kandy Temple of the Tooth Relic. Enjoy a cultural dance show before returning to your hotel.

Day 9: Kandy to Ella
After an early breakfast, board a train for a scenic journey to Ella. This ride takes you through lush forests, quaint villages and tea plantations.

Day 10: Explore Ella
Climb Little Adam’s Peak, also known as ‘Punchi Sri Pada’. From here, enjoy breathtaking views of Ella Rock, Ella Gap and Ruwana Falls. Return back to the hotel for breakfast before having the rest of the day to relax.

Day 11: Nine Arch Bridge
Take a tuk-tuk ride to the visit the Nine Arch Bridge, a remarkable example of  colonial-era engineering in Sri Lanka.

Day 12: Yala
Proceed to Yala, where you’ll have the afternoon to relax before enjoying a wildlife jeep safari in Yala National Park. You might be able to spot rare leopards, elephants and buffalo.

Day 13: Unawatuna
Today, continue to Unawatuna, where you’ll have the chance to visit the famous stilt fisherman, watching them go about their daily routine. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 14: Karuna Cookery Class
After breakfast, visit the local market and shop for fresh ingredients for a cooking session. Learn how to prepare a range of authentic Sri Lankan dishes before you head to Galle Fort. Wander through the museum, explore the old District Judge’s house and the iconic lighthouse.
