Day 1-2: Bangkok

A representative from Wendy Wu tours will meet you once you have arrived in Bangkok. From here, transfer to your hotel.

Day 3: Bangkok highlights

Embark on an immersive tour of Bangkok’s highlights including the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Chinatown before cruising down Chao Phraya River on a longboat to Pak Khlong Talaat Flower Market.

Day 4: Floating Market & the Bridge on the River Kwai

Commence the day’s activities as you soak up the unique sights and sounds while visiting Maeklong Railway Market in Samut Songkram. Following this, explore the bustling waterways at the Damnoen Floating Market before heading to Kanchanaburi and gaining insights into the tragic Japanese occupation of Thailand during WW2.

Day 5: Kanchanaburi – Death Railway- Bangkok

Visit the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum and learn about the construction of the infamous Death Railway, ahead of travelling back to Bangkok.

Day 6: Ayutthaya – Chiang Rai

Discover the historic ruins of Ayutthaya with its impressive array of palaces, pavilions and gardens. After enjoying a spot of lunch in a local restaurant, head back to Bangkok for the short flight to Chiang Rai.

Day 7: Chiang Rai & The Golden Triangle

Experience the ‘Golden Triangle’ which signifies where the countries of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet during the morning of day 7. While here, be sure to sample some of the region’s local produce including tea and coffee, before continuing to Mae Sai and exploring Thailand’s northernmost point. To conclude the day, head back to Chiang Rai for a delicious dinner.

Day 8: Tribes & Tea Plantations in Mae Salong

Travel to the Mae Salong mountains and sample some of the locally sourced tea. Afterwards, enjoy a Yunnanese lunch before visiting Doi Tung Palace and Mae Fah Luang Garden.

Day 9: The White Temple & Hmong Hilltribe Lodge

Start the day by exploring Wat Rong Khun, the bizarre and fascinating White Temple, before embarking on a scenic journey through forests, farms and villages to reach the Hmong Hilltribe Lodge. While here, gain insights into the lives of the Hmong community ahead of a barbecue dinner and a cultural show in the evening.

Day 10: Christmas Eve – Bamboo Rafting & Chiang Mai

Head out of the lodge and embark on a raft ride on the Mae Daang River as you soak up the incredible surrounding scenery. Following this, continue to Chiang Mai and visit a social enterprise café, before exploring two of the region’s most significant temples – Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh.

Day 11: Christmas Day – Elephant Rescue & Christmas Dinner

Visit an elephant sanctuary in the Mesa Valley to kick-start your Christmas day adventure in Thailand. Learn about the history and significance of the sanctuary in the conservation of Thailand’s elephant population, ahead of a Christmas dinner in Chiang Mai’s House by Ginger. Return to the hotel and enjoy some free time in the evening.

Day 12: Boxing Day Cooking Class & Wat Doi Suthep

Learn how to cook a traditional Thai cuisine during Boxing Day morning, ahead of travelling to Wat Doi Suthep and soaking up the remarkable views of Thailand’s countryside. You will have the choice of climbing the Naga staircase or catching the cable car to visit the exquisite golden pagoda. This evening, enjoy a typical Khantoke dinner while watching a performance of traditional song and dance from Northern Thailand
