Day 1 – Departure

Take your overnight flight to Vietnam, arriving in Hanoi

Day 2 – Hanoi

Check into the hotel and enjoy some rest before taking a walk around Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital city. Visit Hoan Kiem Lake, the Old District and its colourful Hang Quat street. The day also offers an optional visit to Hoa Lo prison, built by the French in the late 1800s. The museum here details the experiences of prisoners of war.

Day 3 – Hanoi

Continue touring the city, seeing the One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature. During the day, there’s an option to visit one of the city’s museums, including the National Fine Arts Museum or the Women’s Museum. Also available is a visit to the Museum of Ethnology which explores the diverse ethnic groups living in the country. In the evening, enjoy a traditional water puppet show.

Day 4 – Mai Chau

Depart early in the morning and drive through the picturesque countryside to Mai Chu, where you’ll explore the villages of Lac and Pom Coong, observing the local way of life.

Day 5 – Mai Chau

Explore the area in more depth as you drive through villages, seeing markets and rice paddies.

Day 6 – Journey to Ninh Binh

Head into the Hoa Lu Valley and visit the temple of King Dinh, the ancient capital of Vietnam. Stop in dry Ha Long Bay for a scenic ride in a sampan, admiring the dramatic limestone rock formations as you go

Day 7 – Ha Long Bay & Lan Ha Bay Cruise

Journey to Ha Long Bay for a 2 night cruise. Board the cruise ship and enjoy welcome drinks and lunch while you sail to the southwest of the bay. Glide through Cua Van Floating Cultural Centre before continuing towards Bai Tu Long Bay. On board the ship, enjoy dinner and spend the evening as you please.

Day 8 – Ha Long Bay & Lan Ha Bay Cruise

Explore Cat Ba Island by bike, visiting the village of Viet Hai, which you’ll explore with a guide and learn about two community projects. Enjoy lunch onboard the ship before visiting Trinh Nu Cave, where you can take a swim or sunbathe on the beach.

Day 9 – Fly to Da Nang

In the early morning, explore Sung Sot Cave and enjoy a traditional tea ceremony before disembarking and flying to Da Nang.

Days 10-12 – Free days in Da Nang

Spend 4 nights in Da Nang, a laid-back coastal city. During this time, there’s a number of optional excursions including a visit to Hue, or a day of touring Da Nang and Hoi An. There’s also an option to visit Tra Que Village to gain an insight of rural life.

Day 13 – Return flight

Transfer to the airport for your return flight via Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 14 – Arrive home
