Day 1: UK – In flight

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City
Commence your exhilarating Vietnam exploration in the one of the nation’s most bustling cities, Ho Chi Minh City. While here, experience a detailed tour of the city’s highlights before visiting the Craft Brewery, where you’ll also be able to sample some of the fine selected beers.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City
Visit the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels, seeing the living quarters and the command centers. After lunch, return to the hotel for some free time before dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 4: Cai Be
Travel to Cai Be, located on the Mekong Delta. While here, embark on a cruise along the Mekong River with a scheduled stop at Tan Phong Island, before continuing to visit a ‘Mandarin’ house and to see the local trading boats.

Day 5: Danang – Hoi An
From Cai Be, the journey will then continue with a short flight to Danang before heading to your hotel in Hoi An. Take a guided tour to see the former merchants’ houses, Chinese communal hall and the market, as well as the beautiful bridge. Pause for a drink at Reaching Out, a traditional tea house which helps provide opportunities for locals with speech and hearing impairments.

Day 6: Hoi An
Participate in a visit to Tra Que village where you’ll gain insights into rural and agricultural life, before joining a cooking class with a local family to make authentic tam huu – paperless spring rolls.

Day 7: My Son – Hue
Today, visit the iconic My Son Temple and learn about Cham culture on a tour of the temples. After, visit a rice paper workshop, where you’ll learn to make some snacks and enjoy them with Vietnamese coffee. Head to Hue via the Hai Van Pass, enjoying scenic mountain views

Day 8: Hue
This morning brings an immersion into Hue’s lively streets with a cyclo (three-wheeled bike taxi) ride to the grand Imperial Citadel. A pause at a local café follows, where you’ll sample Hue’s speciality salt coffee
After lunch, the journey continues to the Mausoleum of Tu Duc, once a royal retreat and later the emperor’s final resting place. Visits also include Tu Hieu Pagoda, a tranquil Buddhist sanctuary still home to 70 monks, and Tha Om Garden House, a former royal residence where host Mr Vinh shares stories of his ancestral lineage.
End the day with a special dinner, trying dishes once enjoyed by royalty.

Day 9-10: Hanoi
Travel to the airport ahead of your flight to Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital. During the afternoon, you’ll have the opportunity to explore this iconic city while on a guided tour of Hanoi’s highlights, with the chance to watch a traditional tea ceremony afterwards. The following day is free to explore the city independently.

Day 11: Mai Chau
Delve deeper into Northern Vietnam as you travel to Mai Chau in the morning. Once you have settled into your accommodation and its surroundings, enjoy included dinner, rice wine and a traditional dance performance.

Day 12: Mai Chau
Explore more of what Mai Chau has to offer while on a guided walking tour, soaking up the history and culture of the region’s White Thai villages. You can also tour local rice fields to learn about the farming methods or simply relax in the lodge.

Day 13: Hanoi
Travel back to Hanoi where you’ll embark on yet another guided walking tour, this time around Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Following this, enjoy a unique water puppet show which demonstrates scenes from northern Vietnam’s history and rural life.

Day 14: Halong Bay – Lan Ha Bay
Make your way to the harbour to board your cruise boat. Get settled onboard before stopping to explore Light and Dark Water Cave where you can enjoy some kayaking. Then, head back aboard the ship

Day 15: Lan Ha Bay – Cat Ba Island
As you continue your cruise journey around Lan Ha Bay, explore the region by visiting the beautiful islets and villages of this idyllic bay. While on land, you will also have the opportunity to participate in a cycle trip to a Cat Ba National Park village. Then enjoy lunch and kayaking in Van Boi before swimming off Ba Trai Dao beach.

Day 16: Cat Ba Island – Hanoi – In flight
Arrive at Cat Ba Island, where you’ll visit Army Hospital Cave, used as a secret hideout during the American War. Then, return to Hanoi where you’ll spend the afternoon with a day room at the hotel available. Head to the airport in the evening for your return flight to the UK.
