Day 1-2: UK – In flight

After arriving in Melbourne, transfer directly to your hotel where you have early check in and enjoy an afternoon of free time.

Day 4: Melbourne – Phillip Island
Embark on an immersive city tour of Melbourne during the morning, where you’ll have the opportunity to wander round the old Edwardian and Victorian buildings, as well as the Botanical Gardens. The journey will then continue to Phillip Island, where each evening, a parade of fairy penguins make their way from the sea to their burrows.

Day 5: Dandenong Mountains
In the morning, head out of the city to the Dandenong Mountains, where you’ll take in the scenery during a ride on ‘Puffing Billy’ Australia’s oldest narrow gauge steam train. The afternoon is then free for you to relax or explore at your own pace.

Day 6: Great Ocean Road – Warrnambool
Set off on one of the world’s most scenic drives as you follow the Great Ocean Road which runs between Torquay and Warrnambool. Along the way, you’ll pass Cape Otway National Park and come to Port Campbell National Park, home to the famous Twelve Apostles rock formation.

Day 7: Coonawarra – Murray River – Adelaide
Head into Coonawarra, known for its production of cabernet sauvignon and shiraz, and stop at a winery for a taster. Then, continue through the countryside, following the Murray River to Adelaide.

Day 8-9: Adelaide
Visit the Cleland Wildlife Park in the morning to catch glimpses of the species of Kangaroo and Koala. Return to the city after this and take a sightseeing tour during which you’ll see the southern hemisphere’s largest glasshouse. The following day is free for you to explore independently.

Fly from Adelaide to Alice Springs.

Day 11: Alice Springs – Uluru
This morning, tour the Telegraph Station and the Royal Flying Doctor Service before heading to Uluru. In the evening, visit the Field of Light, where more than 50,000 glass spheres create a spectrum of multi-coloured lights.

Day 12: Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
Wake up early this morning for the chance to watch the sun rise over Uluru. After, head west to  explore Kata Tjuta, a collection of rounded rocks. In the evening, settle down with a glass of wine to watch the sunset. (Please note, the order of excursions in Uluru may change).

Day 14: Great Barrier Reef
On an unforgettable day of adventure, explore the rich ecosystem and thriving waters of the Great Barrier Reef. You’ll be able to view the vibrant and colourful coral while on the included Outer Greater Barrier Reef experience, with there even being a chance take part in snorkelling activities in the water.

Day 15-16: Cairns

Day 17: Kuranda
Board the Skyrail over the rainforest canopy to reach the village of Kuranda. Here you’ll board the Kuranda Scenic Railway, which passes through the rainforest and past waterfalls like the dramatic Barren Falls.

Day 18: Cairns – Sydney
Transfer to the airport for a flight to Sydney. On arrival, head to your hotel in near Darling Harbour. The rest of the day is then at leisure.

Day 26: Milford Sound – Queenstown
Make your way through the Eglinton and Hollyford Valley to reach Milford Sound. Here you’ll take a cruise along the fjord, past Mitre Peak and out to the sea and back. Disembark the ship and continue to Queenstown along the shores of Lake Wakatipu

Enjoy a day at leisure before boarding the vintage TSS Earnslaw for an evening cruise across Lake Wakatipu. You’ll arrive in the sheep station of Walter Peak where you’ll dine at the Colonel’s Homestead.

Day 28: Twizel
Visit Kinross Winery for a tasting before heading to Twizel, stopping at Lake Wanaka for a cruise to Ruby Island and free time. Stay in the Dark Sky Reserve, with an optional stargazing tour available tonight.

Day 29: Mount Cook – Christchurch
Spend the morning in Mount Cook Village with free time to enjoy the alpine scenery, optional short hike or helicopter ride. Stop at Lake Tekapo for free time for lunch and visit the Dark Sky Project, then drive to Christchurch past the striking turquoise waters of Lakes Pukaki and Tekapo.

Head north, pausing at the town of Kaikoura, famous for its seafood before continuing to Picton. Here you’ll board the inter-island ferry across the Cook Strait to reach Wellington.

Drive along the west coast of the North Island, travelling through the Waipoua Forest which is home to huge kuari trees, which you can learn about on a visit to the Kauri Museum. Continue to your hotel in the Bay of Islands

Day 37: Bay of Islands
This morning, cruise to Cape Brett Lighthouse, keeping an eye out for seals, dolphins and whales. Then, sail to the Cathedral Cave and through the ‘Hole in the Rock’. Back on land, visit the Waitangi Treaty House where the signing of the treaty between the Maori and British took place in 1840. You’ll also tour Waitangi itself
