Explore the cultural richness of Bordeaux and Paris, two iconic cities in France. Begin your journey in Bordeaux, renowned for its wine and architectural splendor, boasting 362 historic monuments. Venture into the countryside to Saint-Émilion for wine tastings amidst picturesque landscapes. In Paris, experience the city’s enchanting allure on a night tour, including landmarks like Montmartre and the Palace of Versailles. With leisure time to uncover Paris’s treasures, this tour caters to both first-time and seasoned French enthusiasts.
Day 1: Arrival in Bordeaux
Travel by Eurostar to Bordeaux via Paris. On arrival, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, giving you the chance to start exploring.
Day 2: Bordeaux City Tour
Begin the day with a guide tour of the city, by foot and by coach. Stop by the riverside to admire the Place de la Bourse and the famous Miroir d’Eau. Continue your tour to visit the Opera House and see the merchant houses. After the tour, head to a wine merchant for the day’s signature experience (See Signature Tours for more information).
Day 3: Saint-Emilion
Today, head to the beautiful village of Saint-Emilion, famous for its prestigious wines. Visit a local chateau for a tour, tasting and lunch (see Signature Tours of more information). After lunch, visit the old cloisters at Les Cordeliers. Take a guided tours to see the underground tunnels which are perfect for aging wine. Taste some of the wine produced here before returning to Bordeaux.
Day 4: City of Wine
Visit Bordeaux’s wine museum where you can explore the history of wine through the ages, digitally exploring vineyards across the globe. After exploring the exhibits, head to the top of the building to try one of the wines on offer. In the afternoon, enjoy a signature experience before spending the rest of the day at leisure (See Signature Experiences for more information)
Day 5: Train to Paris
This morning, board a high-speed train to Paris. On arrival, check into your hotel before having the rest of the day leisure.
Day 6: Paris
Following breakfast, take a comprehensive coach tour of the city, seeing all its famous sights. Then, you’ll have another afternoon and evening to explore independently.
Day 7: Versailles
Leave Paris and take a short drive to Versailles, where you’ll visit the famous palace (See Signature Tours for more information). Returning from Versailles in the afternoon, you can either be dropped off in Paris for some free time or continue onto the hotel. In the evening, head out on a coach tour of Paris ‘by night’. You’ll get the chance to see the city’s landmarks illuminated.
Day 8: Montmartre
Take a short trip to Montmartre this morning, where you can enjoy brilliant views of Paris from the doors of Sacre-Coeur. You’ll also get the chance to explore the neighbourhood, home to the Moulin Rouge and the oldest vineyard in the city plus more. In the afternoon, return to the centre of Paris, where you can head off to explore, or relax at the hotel.

Day 9: Return Home
Say goodbye to Paris and board the Eurostar back to the UK

Day 2:
Visit an organic, biodynamic wine merchant for a wine tasting. Learn about the organic farming techniques used.
Day 3:
While at the Chateau in Saint-Emilion, enjoy a delicious lunch made with local ingredients and seasonal produce
Day 4:
Visit Bordeaux’s former submarine base where you’ll find Bassins des Lumieres, a digital art centre where some of art’s most iconic pieces are projected onto the concrete wall and reflected on the water
Day 7:
You’ll have the chance to the Palace of Versailles’ Royal Apartments, Hall of Mirrors and Gardens, with an arranged timed entry tickets and an audio guide included.
Plus, enjoy the more exclusive atmosphere of travelling in a small group of 25 or fewer guests.

Mercure Bordeaux Château Chartrons Hotel -4*
