Day 1 – Travel to Vernon
Travel from London St Pancras to Paris, before transferring by coach to Vernon. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy dinner.
Day 2 – Monet’s House
Today, visit Claude Monet’s house and garden. See the Japanese inspired water garden and the famous lily pond. Later on, journey to Chartres and see the intricate cathedral here before continuing on to the city of Tours where you’ll stay for the next four nights.
Day 3 – Tours & Chenonceau
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Tours’ historic centre before heading to Chenonceau, home to a stately chateau that was once home to Mary Queen of Scots. Later, return to the hotel.
Day 4 – Fontevraud Abbey, Saumur & wine tasting
This morning, visit the UNESCO site of Fontevraud for a guided tour. This abbey was once one of the most powerful royal retreats in the world. Next, travel to Saumur, a delight spot to enjoy lunch before visiting the Ackerman wine cellars to sample some of their produce
Day 5 – Chinon & Chateau Villandry
Spend the morning exploring the charming town of Chinon, which is dominated by its imposing castle, before visiting the Chateau Villandry, famous for its gardens of colourful vegetables.
Please note, entrance to Chateau de Chinon is not included. It is €8.50, approximate costs, payable locally.
Day 6 – Ambroise & Chateau of Clos Luce
Visit the delightful town of Ambroise and head to the Chateau of Clos Luce, the final home of Leonardo Da Vinci, which houses a museum dedicated to home. After, head to your final hotel where you also enjoy dinner.
Day 7 – Fontainebleau & return
This morning, see the beautiful Chateau of Fontainebleau, where Napoleon depart to his exile on Elba. Take in the impressive building and grounds before transferring to Paris for your return Eurostar journey to London.
