Day 1: Arrive in Parma
Fly to Milan. On arrival, transfer to Parma and check into your hotel

Day 2: Parma
Spend the day exploring Parma. Visit the Palazzo della Pilotta, whose art gallery contains work by Correggio and Parmigianino. You’ll also visit the Teatro Farnese, built in 1628 as well as Parma’s opera house and the frescoes on the Cathedral by Correggio.

Day 3: Mantua
Travel to Mantua today, where you’ll see works by Mantegna and Romano throughout the day. Visit the Palazzo Ducale, the residence of the Gonzaga family as well as the elegant Palazzo Te.

Day 4: Cremona
In Cremona, renowned its production of fine string instruments under the Stradivari family, you’ll visit the Museum of the Violin. This museum houses important collections of historical instruments. While here, you’ll also visit a luthier’s atelier to see the craft in practice.

Day 5: Giuseppe Verdi
Today, visit the farm dwelling in Roncole where Giuseppe Verdi was born. Then, continue to Teatro Verdi at Busseto. Head to the banks of the River Po for lunch at Antica Corte Pallavicina. Travel back to Parma, stopping at the fortress of Rocca di Sanvitale in Fontanellato.

Day 6: Return
Transfer to Bologna for a flight back to the UK.
