Day 1: Arrival in Lisbon
Fly to Lisbon. On arrival, transfer to your hotel before having the rest of the day at leisure

Day 2: Lisbon
This morning, head out on a guided coach tour of Lisbon. Stop at the Monument to the Discoveries and Belem Tower before visiting the Monastery of Jerónimos and the Terreiro do Paço square. The afternoon is at leisure to explore at your own pace.

Day 3: Sintra
Take a short drive to nearby Sintra, where you’ll visit the Royal Palace of Sintra, one of Portugal’s best-preserved medieval palaces. Inside you’ll see explore some of the grand rooms and historic collections. After your tour of the palace, you’ll have free time to explore the town independently, perhaps visiting the Pena or Monserrate Palaces or simply relaxing with a coffee

Day 4: Coimbra University
Leaving Lisbon, head north to Coimbra, known for its impressive Roman aqueduct and historic university. In the afternoon, you’ll have the chance to visit the university, seeing its beautiful Baroque library which houses 300,000 volumes. From Coimbra, you’ll then continue to Porto and check into your hotel.

Day 5: Porto
Take a guided tour of Porto this morning, seeing its major sites, including the Praca de Ribeira square, the Dom Luis Bridge and the medieval quarter. You’ll also see the fortress, cathedral and the Clerigos Tower. This afternoon, visit one of Porto’s famous port wine lodges where you’ll learn about the history of port wine and get the chance to sample some. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 6: The Douro Valley
Spend today exploring the scenic Douro Valley, driving through the valley to reach to small town of Pinhão. Embark on a short river cruise before visiting a local quinta to sample some local wine.

Day 7: Free day in Porto
Enjoy a free day to explore Porto however you wish. Perhaps explore the antique shops that can before found throughout the city or take advantage of the café culture to relax with a coffee and cake.

Day 8: Return home
At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport for your flight home
