Day 1: Palermo
Arrive in Palermo and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome lecture and dinner

Day 2: Palermo
Tour the historical centre of Palermo today. Begin at the Norman Palace and the Cathedral and treasury before a light street food lunch. Then, head to St John of the Hermits Church before having the rest of the day free.

Day 3: Monreale
Travel to Monreale today to experience the impressive Cathedral of Monreale, before heading back to Palermo to visit the Zisa and Cuba Palaces.

Day 4: Cefalà Diana
The journey continues to Cefala Diana where you’ll be able to visit the region’s thermal baths, before sampling some traditional Sicilian pastries in a local bakery. Then, try some local liqueurs before having the rest to the day at leisure.

Visit Palermo’s 12th-century Church of St Mary of the Admiral in the morning, ahead of travelling to Cefalu to marvel at the region’s remarkable Cathedral. Enjoy a farewell drink in the evening.

Andrew Spira: Spira graduated from the Courtauld Institute of Art before working at the Temple Gallery, London, and as a curator at the Victoria & Albert Museum. He was a programme director at Christie’s Education for 14 years and has led numerous cultural tours to Europe.

Dr Sally Dormer: Dormer is a freelance art historian and lecturer. She read history at the University of Durham, before gaining an MA in medieval art and a PhD at the Courtauld Institute of Art. She is a course tutor and lecturer at the Victoria & Albert Museum and also lectures for the Art Fund and the Arts Society.
