Day 1: Arrival in Ljubljana
Fly to either Ljubljana or Zagreb (dependent on your departure airport) and transfer to your hotel in Ljubljana.

Day 2: Ljubljana
This morning, split into smaller groups for a guided walking tour with a local. The tour takes you through the Old Town, home to some of the city’s landmarks including the Town Hall, Hercules Fountain, the Church of St Florian and the Church of St Nicholas. Then, cross the famous Trip Bridge, keeping an eye out for the distinctive salmon coloured Franciscan Church of the Annunciation. After the tour, the afternoon is free for you to explore as you wish.

Day 3: Piran & Lipica
Today, head to the coast to visit the town of Piran, known for its Venetian style architecture, including its marble paved square as well as other works of art. There’s some time to explore independently, during which you could scale the Gate Tower and walk along the town walls. In the afternoon, travel to nearby Lipica to visit the Stud Farm, where Lipizzaner horses have been bred for hundreds of years. Watch the horses perform intricate routines before a guided tour of the farm.

Day 4: Ptuj & Maribor
After breakfast, head to Slovenia’s oldest settlement on record, Ptuj. After a brief orientation of the town, you’ll be able to explore at your own pace, perhaps visiting the castle which is home to a museum full of fascinating exhibitions. From here, head 30 minutes north to Maribor. Join a local guide to see the oldest fruitful grapevine in the world. You’ll then continue your walking tour to see the Town Hall, the Plague Column and the Franciscan Church. After, visit a local winery to try some local wines. This evening, return to Ljubljana to enjoy dinner at a historic restaurant at the foot of the castle

Day 5: Lake Bled
Travel through the countryside to reach picturesque Lake Bled. On arrival, take to the water on a traditional Pletna rowing boat to reach the Bled Island, home to the Church of the Assumption. After some time to take in the beauty of the island, head back to the shore and visit a local bakery. Here you can try famous bled cake, featuring puff pastry, whipped cream, custard and icing sugar. After some more free time, return to the hotel.

Day 6: Return home
At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Explore the Postojna Cave System (2026 Only)
Explore the magnificent 24km-long Postojna Caves. Home to the world’s first underground railway, opened in 1872, this guided tour covers 5km of the spectacular karst cave system by both train and foot, allowing you to admire these natural wonders up close. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring a coat, as the caves remain around 10°C, and note that the visit includes a 1.5km walk underground.
