Day 1: Arrival In Ljubljana
You’ll be met at the airport by a Riviera Travel representative before flying to Ljubljana. On arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: Ljubljana
This morning, join a local guide to explore the Old Town, where you can see the Town Hall, the Church of St Florian and the Sticna Mansion. Then, cross the famous Triple Bridge to reach Prešeren (Prešernov) Square, home to the distinctive Franciscan Church of Annunciation. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace.
Day 3: Piran & Lipica
This morning sees you crossing to the other side of the country, to the tiny stretch of coastline at the Gulf of Trieste. Facing Venice across the Adriatic, seaside Piran mirrors its Italian neighbour. Explore its works of Venetian art or maybe walk along the city walls. In the afternoon, travel to nearby Lipica, where you can get close to the rare breed of Lipizzaner horses at the Classical Riding School.
Day 4: Ptuj & Maribor
Leave the capital and head to towards the Hungarian border, stopping in Ptuji, where you’ll have a short orientation tour. Then continue to Maribor. With a local guide, see the celebrated Old Vine, the Town Hall and the Plague Column. In the afternoon, experience a wine tasting.
Day 5: Lake Bled
Journey to Bled this morning, passing through the countryside. Sail over to Bled Island on a traditional canopied boat. Here you can climb the church’s south staircase or simply stroll around the island. The afternoon is at leisure to explore Bled itself, perhaps stopping at a bakery to try Kremsnita, a local cake or visiting Bled Castle.
