Step into the heart of Andalucía, a region where timeless traditions, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality come together to create one of Europe’s most captivating destinations. Far from the rush of modern life, this journey begins in Malaga and unfolds through Gibraltar, Cadiz, Jerez de la Frontera, and Seville—each city offering a unique glimpse into Andalucía’s rich cultural tapestry. Continuing into Portugal’s Algarve, you’ll discover scenic coastlines, charming villages, and the vibrant spirit of the southern coast. The adventure concludes in Tavira, a historic gem known for its serene beaches and laid-back charm.
Day 1: Arrive in Malaga
Fly to Malaga from the UK. On arrival, transfer to the hotel before having the rest of the day at leisure. Later in the evening, enjoy a welcome drinks reception for the chance to get to know the rest of the group and your tour manager
Day 2: Malaga
Explore Malaga this morning on a tour with a local expert guide, taking in its most notable landmarks. Visit the Roman theatre and see the Moorish fortifications as well as the Picasso Museum. The tour ends at Malaga Cathedral, which you can explore at your own pace, with admission included. This evening, enjoy a flamenco show.
Day 3: Food Tour & Market Visit
Embark on a discovery of local cuisine today, starting with the Atarazanas Food Market. With a local guided, learn about Spanish cuisine while sampling treats. The rest of the day is at leisure, giving you the chance to explore more of the city.
Day 4: Gibraltar & Cadiz
After breakfast, leave Malaga for a scenic drive along the coast to Gibraltar. On arrival, enjoy some free time to wander through the town, perhaps taking a cable car ride to the top of the Rock. Later on, continuing to Cadiz.
Day 5: Cadiz
Split into small groups this morning to take a guided tour of Cadiz’s old quarter to explore its maritime history. Explore its five beautiful squares, funded by the wealth gained from the conquest of the Americas as this was the headquarters of the treasure fleets. Plus, visit the golden-domed cathedral and the surrounding Plaza San Antonio. Following the tour, visit Café Royalty for afternoon tea. The remainder of the day is free.
Day 6: Free day
Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Cadiz. Wander through the streets to find boutiques, galleries and tapas bars. Or visit one of the iconic watchtowers for brilliants views. If you’re looking for something more relaxing, visit Parque Genovés or Playa de la Victoria beach, which is opposite your hotel.
Day 7: Jerez de la Frontera
Head inland today to the city of Jerez de la Frontera. You’ll have free time to explore the city this morning, with the cathedral and Alcazar being just a couple of the attractions you can discover. You’ll then head to Bodegas Tradicion, a winemaker specialising in sherry, which the region and city is famous for. In the company of an expert guide, learn about the production process, tour the winery and enjoy a tasting paired with light snacks. Return to Cadiz in the late afternoon.
Day 8: Seville
Leave Cadiz and begin making your way to Tavira in Portugal. Along the way, you’ll stop in the beautiful city of Seville. Here, you’ll have a guided tour, exploring the Plaza de Espana, and seeing the Torre del Oro, where they stored treasures from the Americas. Following this, you’ll have some free time during which you may which to visit the Alcazar Palace, a operational royal residence or the cathedral, which is the final resting place of Christopher Columbus. In the late afternoon, continue your journey across the border, arriving in Tavira.
Day 9: Tavira
This morning, join a tour guide for an orientation walk of Tavira’s old town. You’re then free to spend the rest of the day as you wish.
Day 10: Ria Formosa Natural Park
Journey to the town of Olhão, where you’ll embark on a boat excursion through the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. Here you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the coast as well as the chance to see a variety of migratory birds. Pause at the island of Culatra to get a glimpse of the traditional lifestyle of the locals. During the day, you’ll have a rustic lunch prepared with local ingredients.
Day 11: Return home
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
