Day 1: Fly to Istanbul
Fly to Istanbul and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Old Istanbul
Explore Istanbul’s landmark sites. Visit the remains of the once mighty Hippodrome, marvel at the multiple domes and six minarets of the Blue Mosque, then venture inside majestic Hagia Sophia, the crowning achievement of the Byzantine Empire. Next visit the extraordinary Basilica Cistern and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the Grand Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world.

Day 3: Bosporos Strait
This morning, visit the Topkapi Palace before visiting the Rustem Pasa Mosque. After lunch, visit the historic Fener and Balat districts. Then, enjoy a private cruise along the Bosporus Strait to see the dramatic Rumeli Fortress, Dolmabhace Palace and Beylerbeyi Palace from the water.

Day 4: Gallipoli Peninsula
Pay your respects to the fallen soldiers of the ill-fated Gallipoli campaign at the Cape Helles Memorial

Day 5: Troy & Pergamon
Visit the ruins of Troy and learn about its fabled history before heading to the city of Pergamon, known for its Acropolis and steep theatre. Lunch today is a home-cooked Turkish meal, before you continue to Selcuk, where you’ll check into your hotel.

Day 6: Ephesus & Sirince
Spend the morning exploring one of the ancient world’s most famous cities. Remarkably well preserved, Ephesus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and its roads, pavements, facades and enormous theatre paint a vivid picture of what everyday life in the ancient city might have been like.

Day 7: Fly to Cappadocia
Transfer to Izmir for a flight to the region of Cappadocia. Arrive at the hotel before visiting the Saruhan Caravanserai, where you’ll witness a spectacular Whirling Dervishes performance. Then, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 8: Christmas Day in Cappadocia
Spend a memorable Christmas morning among the rock-hewn churches of Goreme, home to one of the world’s earliest Christian communities. Then, travel to the Pasabag Valley, where you can take in the magnificent views from Uchisar citadel. In the afternoon, visit Avanos and watch potters create items from local clay. End the day with a special Christmas dinner at a local restaurant.

If you wish to, you can begin the day with a hot-air balloon flight over Cappadocia. Please note this is at your own expense.

Day 9: Boxing Day lunch with a local family
Begin the day with a trip to the village of Mustafapasa, followed by a walk through the beautiful Soganli Valley. Enjoy lunch today in a traditional home, before heading to Kaymakli Underground City, a subterranean settlement.

Day 10: Istanbul
Fly back to Istanbul today, with the rest of the day at leisure. In the evening, have a farewell dinner in the historic Kumkapi district on the sea of Marmara.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
