Days 1-2: Vienna
Start your cruise in Vienna where you’ll have the first two days to explore its palaces, cathedrals and museums as well as soaking in the atmosphere in the cafes and squares.

Day 3: Dürnstein – Weissenkirchen
Leaving Vienna, sail to Dürnstein, which sits just on the entrance to the Wachau Valley. Here you’ll find the striking Stiftskirche and a castle where, according to legend, Richard the Lionheart was once imprisoned. It’s also home to a number of taverns serving the region’s delicious wines. Then, the ship continues to Weissenkirchen where you can find historic mansions and timeless wineries.

Day 4: Linz
Austria’s third-largest city, Linz, offers plenty to explore. Highlights include the Feichtinger House with its Glockenspiel, the Castle Museum, Lentos Art Museum, and the Neo-Gothic Mariendom, famed for its stunning stained-glass windows and 20,000-person capacity. A climb up Pöstlingberg Hill rewards with panoramic Danube views, best enjoyed with a coffee and a slice of Linzer Torte.

Day 5: Passau
Spend the day exploring this historic city where the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers meet. Once a Renaissance center for sword-making, Passau now charms with its cobblestone Old Town, featuring the artistic Town Hall and Baroque St. Stephen’s Cathedral, home to green-domed towers and one of the world’s largest organs.

Day 6: Grein – Melk
Today’s first port of call is Grein, primarily known for its castle but its also home to Austria’s oldest active theatre. After some time exploring, continue to Melk. Here you can see the famous Melk Abbey, still a functioning Benedictine Abbey.

Days 7-8: Vienna
Return to Vienna for some more time exploring the city, before disembarking on the final day for your onward journey
