Days 1-2: Vienna
Arrive in Vienna where you’ll spend the next two days. Vienna is a city of timeless grandeur. Once an imperial center, seat of the Holy Roman Empire, and capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, it still dazzles with Baroque architecture, historic charm, and the famed Lebenskunst—or art of living—that inspired composers like Mozart and Strauss.
Day 3: Esztergom – Visegrad – Budapest
Leaving Vienna behind, sail to Esztergom, home to the country’s largest church and once the capital of Hungary. From here you’ll then continue to Visegard. This riverside town is known for its beautiful medieval fortress, thermal spas and cuisine. Later today, continue to Budapest.
Days 4-5: Budapest
Enjoy two days to explore Budapest. Often hailed as one of the world’s most beautiful cities, Budapest stretches majestically along both banks of the Danube. Highlights include Heroes’ Square with its Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the stunning Hungarian Parliament Building, and the opulent Castle District with its photogenic Fisherman’s Bastion. Beyond its iconic landmarks, the city captivates with a vibrant Jewish Quarter, the world’s second-largest synagogue, an intricate underground cave system, and some of Europe’s most renowned thermal baths.
Day 6: Bratislava
Bratislava transports visitors to another era, dominated by its striking 9th-century clifftop castle. Below, the pedestrian-only Old Town charms with historic architecture, including Michael’s Gate, St. Martin’s Cathedral, the Old Opera House, and the Neoclassical Primate’s Palace. The city delights with playful surprises too, from Napoleon’s cannonballs embedded in the walls to the whimsical statue of Čumil the Sewer Worker peeking from below street level.
Day 7: Tulln & Wachau Valley
Sail to Tulln, a historic town on Austria’s Danube, which dates back to Roman times as the fortress of Comagena. Rebuilt after World War II, Tulln today is celebrated for its elegant architecture, rich cultural heritage, and lush gardens, earning the nickname “City of Flowers.” Then enjoy some scenic cruising through the Wachau Valley, taking in the stunning landscapes.
Day 8: Vienna
Arrive back in Vienna today where you’ll disembark
