Days 1-2: Budapest
One of the world’s most beautiful cities, Budapest rises impressively along both banks of the Danube. Highlights include Heroes’ Square, the striking Hungarian Parliament Building, and the Castle District with its iconic Fisherman’s Bastion, along with a vibrant Jewish Quarter, the world’s second-largest synagogue, an underground cave system, and renowned thermal baths.
Day 3: Budapest to Esztergom
Hungary’s capital from the 10th to the mid-13th centuries, Esztergom is the coronation site of St. Stephen, the nation’s first king. Its hilltop Basilica—the country’s largest church and seat of the Catholic Church—overlooks the Danube alongside Esztergom Castle, while the historic center features a charming market square framed by Baroque, Rococo, and Neoclassical buildings once home to wealthy 17th-century merchants.
Day 4: Bratislava
Bratislava feels like a step back in time, crowned by its striking 9th-century hilltop castle. Below, the lively pedestrian Old Town showcases Old World landmarks such as Michael’s Gate, St. Martin’s Cathedral, the Old Opera House, and the Primate’s Palace—along with playful surprises, from Napoleon’s cannonballs embedded in city walls to the whimsical statue of Čumil the Sewer Worker.
Day 5: Vienna
Vienna is a city of grandeur and history, from its imperial past as the heart of the Holy Roman and Austro-Hungarian Empires to its present charm. The city dazzles with Baroque architecture, lavish palaces, historic cathedrals, world-class museums, legendary music venues, cozy coffee houses, and romantic horse-drawn fiakers gliding through its streets.
