The Seine River flows through 777 kilometres (483 miles) of Northern France, providing impeccable views along the whole river. Historically, the Seine river provided a passage for Viking attacks by Ragnar Lothbrok and Rollo, the first ruler of Normandy, to attack Paris, some of the greatest Vikings to exist and now the river given the responsibility of hosting the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Paris

One of the world’s centres for culture and fashion, Paris will undoubtedly provide a plethora of activities and sites for tourists, from landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and The Louvre to the Louvre and Tuileries District for shopping. Rouen

Once one of the capitals of the Angevin kings of England and the place where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake, surrendered to French control in the 15th Century. Rouen is home to landmarks such as Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen, a beautiful gothic cathedral, and the Musée des Beaux-Arts, renowned for its 17th Century masterpieces.

Arromanches

The Arromanches provide a charming view overlooking the Gold Beach at the D-Day landings, one of the five landing zones and one of the two landing zones of which the British Army operated from. The Arromanches truly give a sense of scale and terror of Operation Overlord which occurred to allow for reflection with its museum and cinema.

When to visit the Seine River

The best months to glide down the Seine River are in the Summer, from June to August for the best weather and more daylight hours for which to take photos, however, for less crowds and milder weather May and September are also great months to go.
