Day 1 – Arrival in Marrakesh

Fly to Marrakesh. On arrival,  transfer to the four-star superior Hotel Opera Plaza in Marrakesh, where you’ll enjoy a five-night stay.

Day 2 – Marrakesh & the Saadian Tombs

Marrakesh’s captivating labyrinth of bustling alleyways and well-preserved medieval walls, often featured as a film set, offers a unique experience. The morning’s sightseeing tour includes visits to the Saadian tombs, an exquisite example of Moorish architecture, and the Bahia Palace, once acclaimed as the world’s most beautiful palace. Explore the renowned souks, where skilled artisans craft intricate leatherware, jewellery, and furniture. In the evening, after hotel dinner, venture to Jemaa el-Fnaa square for a vibrant display of Moroccan culture, featuring musicians, dancers, fortune-tellers, and snake charmers in a colourful spectacle.

Day 3 – Marrakesh

Today in Marrakesh,  explore the city’s magnificent gardens, offering peaceful escapes from its bustling streets. Notable gardens include Jardin Majorelle, once owned by Yves Saint-Laurent, featuring bamboo, bougainvillea, and cacti. The city is surrounded by impressive 19-mile-long ramparts with well-preserved forts at intervals. These classic Moorish gates change colours with the light throughout the day. The afternoon is free for leisurely exploration or relaxation at the hotel’s excellent facilities.

Day 4 – Essaouira

Begin the day with a comfortable drive to Essaouira, a 15th-century coastal town with a well-preserved medieval citadel, charming streets, and bustling markets. The town is known for its unspoiled charm and has served as a backdrop for film productions. During the journey, you’ll witness Morocco’s changing landscape from green plains to semi-desert, passing mud-brick villages and shepherds tending their herds, with donkeys as a common mode of transport.

Day 5 – Atlas Mountains & Marrakesh

Today, venture into the Atlas Mountains, offering stunning views of saffron-coloured fields, wooded slopes, river-filled gorges, and peaks soaring over 3,000 meters high. After enjoying the breathtaking vistas and a brief stop, return to Marrakesh in the early afternoon, leaving the rest of the day free for you to explore the city.

Day 6 – Return Home

Transfer to the airport for your return flight

Day 4:

  • Begin your day at a local women’s co-operative, where you’ll learn about the versatile Argan nut. Explore its use in beauty products and culinary delights while savouring Amlou, a nutritious spread made with Argan oil, honey, and almonds.

  • Marvel at the breathtaking Atlas Mountains’ snow-capped peaks as you venture further into the enchanting Ourika Valley, often referred to as the “Garden of Morocco.”
