Embark on an adventure that takes you to three countries, exploring their landscapes and history. Start in Finland where you explore the capital before venturing into Lapland, where you’ll meet huskies and reindeers, and learn about the indigenous Sami people. From here, enter Norway to border the Coastal Express which takes you from Kirkenes to Bergen. Along the way you’ll get to see some of the coast’s highlights, from cities like to Trondheim to dramatic landscapes like to the Seven Sister mountains. Finish the tour in Iceland, where you’ll relax in the Blue Lagoon and explore waterfalls and volcanic landscapes on a Golden Circle tour.

Day 1: Arrive in Finland
Make your way in Helsinki. On arrival, transfer to your hotel and check in. If you have time, perhaps head out to start exploring. Return to the hotel for a welcome dinner and to meet your tour manager
Day 2: Helsinki
Enjoy a three hour tour of Helsinki today. Travelling on a private bus, you’ll get a brilliant overview for the city’s history and architecture. Two highlights of the tour are the Sibelius Monument and Temppeliaukio Rock Church, a unique landmark built into bedrock and featuring a copper dome.
Day 3: Train to the Arctic
After breakfast, head to the railway station to board the train to Rovaniemi, the regional capital of Finnish Lapland. On arrival in the late afternoon, transfer to the hotel before having the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 4: Relax with Reindeer
Start your day with a visit to family run reindeer farm, where you learn about the traditions and significance of reindeer herding in the region. During the tour, you’ll be able to meet and feed the reindeers themselves. After free time for lunch, you’ll enjoy a relaxing float on a freshwater lake in a specially designed suit.
Day 5: Bliss under the Midnight Sun
Following a leisurely breakfast, head north to Saariselka. Along the way, you’ll stop at the Santa Claus Village where you’ll have some free time, as well as in Sodankyla to see its church, one of Finland’s oldest wooden structures. Arrive in Saariselka and check into your glass-ceilinged cabin before enjoying dinner.
Day 6: Hiking with Huskies
This morning is at leisure, unless you wish to join an optional excursion. After lunch at the hotel, take a hike with a husky, learning about the local wildlife and plants. In the evening, venture out on a photography expedition to capture the Midnight Sun before visiting a wilderness camp on Lake Inari’s shore.
Day 7: Sami Culture
Depart Saariselka, travelling to the village of Inari. Here you’ll visit the SIIDA Sami Museum, where you’ll learn about the indigenous people’s history, traditions and art. Have lunch featuring local dishes before continuing over the border into Norway, arriving in Kirkenes. Check into your hotel and enjoy dinner.
Day 8: Snowhotel & boarding
Visit the amazing Snowhotel in Kirkenes this morning. Explore the expert crafted hotel and enjoy a welcoming drink. While here, you can explore the park nearby where you can see reindeer and huskies. In the afternoon, head to the pier to board the Coastal Express. Spend the rest of the day settling in.
Day 9: Midnight magic in Tromso
Today you’ll explore the north of Norway, stopping in Hammerfest, one of the world’s northernmost settlements. Head ashore to see the Meridian Column or visit the viewpoint on Mount Salen. The ship continues to Tromso, arriving near midnight. However, thanks to the Midnight Sun, there’s still plenty to explore at this time of day.
Day 10: Scenic Lofoten Islands
The voyage through Lofoten and Vesterålen begins at Finnsnes, with stops in Harstad, Risøyhamn, and Sortland. In Stokmarknes, birthplace of The Coastal Express, you can take the opportunity to tour the Hurtigruten Museum and the preserved MS Finnmarken. Sailing through Raftsund may include a detour into Trollfjord, home to soaring sea eagles. By evening, the ship reaches Svolvær, passing the dramatic Lofoten Wall to conclude the day.
Day 11: Legends of the Arctic Circle
After early morning calls at Bodø and Ørnes, the ship crosses the Arctic Circle. Continue south to the Helgeland Coast, keeping an eye out for the Seven Sister mountains and the distinct Torghatten Mountain. In the afternoon, the ship arrives in Brønnøysund where you can explore the marina and historic church. The final stop today is Rørvik in the Vikna archipelago.
Day 12: Cathedrals and klippfisk
Start the day in Trondheim, a historical city where you’ll find Nidaros Cathedral, resting place of St Olav. Take a stroll through the Bakklandet district and maybe head up to Kristiansten Fort for panoramic vies of the city. Later in the day, the ship docks in Kristiansund, known for klippfisk, its salted, dried cod. Here you can take a walk through the old town and perhaps visit Varden viewpoint. The ship continues to Molde, known for its views of the Romsdal Alps.
Day 13: Bergen
Begin the day with views of Nordfjord below Europe’s largest glacier, Jostedal. Dock in Florø briefly, seeing Stabben lighthouse after you depart. Cross the mouth of Sognefjord before making your way through Hjeltefjord to reach Bergen. On arrival, disembark and head out on a guided tour by bus. You’ll see St Mary’s Church and Haakon Hall before exploring the fish market and Brygge wharf. The rest of the evening is at leisure.
Day 14: Fly to Iceland
After to morning at leisure to spend as you wish, head to the airport to fly to Keflavik in Iceland. Transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik.
Day 15: Explore Iceland’s capital
Today, head out on a three-hour tour of Reykjavik. Visit the City Hall, National Museum, Höfði House and the Harpa Concert Hall. Then, head to the Hallgrímskirkja Church, exploring its interior. Then, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure
Day 16: Blue Lagoon
Head to the famous Blue Lagoon where you can relax in the mineral rich waters, with a complimentary mud mask, drink and towels. Later, travel to Selfoss, stopping on route to admire the colourful geothermic landscapes at Krisuvik.
If the Blue Lagoon is not open, you’ll visit the Sky Lagoon instead. Here you’ll get admission, one journey through the Skjol ritual and a towel (No drink).
Day 17: The Land of Fire and Ice
Spend today exploring the south coast. Visit the breathtaking Seljalandsfoss and Skogadoss waterfalls. Then, head to Reynisfjara, a black sand beach where you can see Dyrhólaey. Later, visit the LAVA Centre, where you can learn about Iceland’s volcanic activity through displays and films. The remainder of the day is free to spend as you wish.
Day 18: The Golden Circle Tour
After breakfast, venture out on the iconic Golden Circle tour. Visit Gullfoss, a powerful two-tiered waterfall followed by the Strokkur geyser, which erupts regularly. Continue to Þingvellir National Park, the historic site of Iceland’s original parliament. Here you can see the rift valleys caused by the two tectonic plates pulling apart. Return to Reykjavik for a final night, enjoying a farewell dinner.
Day 19: End of the Tour
Your tour comes to an end after breakfast.
