If you’re travelling between September and November, you’ll take a 20–30-minute wagon ride at a husky farm before relaxing in a kota enjoying treats. Have dinner before taking a snowmobile sleigh ride to see the Northern lights and listen to stories by the fire. On some September and November departures, you’ll take a bus trip to see the Northern Lights, stopping at Lake Akaslompolo.
For departures between December and April, you’ll have a 5km husky sleigh ride before having the afternoon free to try some optional activities. In the evening, have dinner before a 3-hour aurora hunting sleigh ride.
Day 6: Three countries in one day
Today’s itinerary varies by season and travel date.
Most dates: After breakfast, head northwest along the Sweden–Finland border to Kilpisjärvi for a 3-hour “Border of Three Countries” excursion (weather permitting). Travel by snowmobile or sleigh across frozen lakes and snowy forests to Koltavuoma, where Norway, Finland, and Sweden meet. Includes guide, thermal gear, photos, hot drink, and pastry.
