Set sail on an epic adventure from its southernmost point to the mainland’s northernmost point. Along the way, you’ll stop in exciting and picturesque towns, cities and villages that give you an insight into Norway’s coastal communities as well as the chance to tick off some bucket-list activities
Day 1: Oslo
Travel to Oslo. Depending on your time arrival, spend some time exploring before boarding MS Trollfjord in the afternoon
Day 2: Day at sea
The whole of day is spent sailing, giving you the perfect opportunity to watch the scenery pass by or join the Coastal Experience team for interesting lectures and presentations.
Day 3: Stavanger
Wake up to brilliant views of Lysefjord, home to one of Norway’s most famous sights, Preikestolen where towers over the fjord. Continue sailing to Stavanger, a colourful city with a lively atmosphere. Discover the historical highlights of the old town including well-preserved wooden house and Norway’s oldest cathedral.
Day 4: Ålesund
After breakfast on board, dock in Ålesund. Spend some time exploring independently, perhaps visiting the Atlantic Sea Park or heading to the Mount Aksla viewpoint. Or you can join an optional excursion to gain an insight to the landmarks with a local guide.
Day 5: Rørvik
Arrive in the fishing port of Rørvik in the Vikna archipelago. Here you can join an optional excursion to explore the town’s three museums. In the afternoon, sail through the archipelago and take in the views. During the night, you’ll sail over the Arctic Circle.
Day 6: Lofoten
Explore Lofoten today. Dock at Svolvær, the biggest town in the islands. There is a variety of optional excursions are available, including ice-fishing, kayaking or taking a bus town around Lofoten. Day 7: Tromsø
Enjoy 8 hours in the Arctic Capital of Tromsø. Here you can visit the Polar Museum, which showcases the city’s historic link to Arctic exploration. The city is also the best place to take part in some bucket-list experiences, with optional excursions including snowmobiling, visiting reindeer or an ice igloo
Day 8: Honningsvåg
Arrive in the northernmost town on the Norwegian mainland today, Here you’ll be able to join some fantastic optional wintery excursions, including a chance to go ice-fishing, learn about king crab or head to the North Cape itself. Tonight, the ship will turn back south
Day 9: Alta
Sail to the town of Alta, in an area well known for good visibility of the Northern Lights. While in the city, you may wish to learn more about local life or visit the Northern Lights Cathedral. Alternatively, you can join an excursion to the Igloo Hotel in winter or hike to Mount Komsa.
Day 10: Narvik
Your destination today is the port of Narvik. On today’s optional excursions you can learn about the town’s World War II history or board the Arctic Train along the iconic Ofoten Railway.
Day 11: Sail the inner coastal route
Head southwards along the coast, taking in views of windswept islands and majestic fjords.
Day 12: Åndalsnes
Explore the picturesque coastal town of Andalsnes today, one of Norway’s go-to spots for hiking thanks to the mountains surrounding the fjord. Take in the sights on an optional city tour or ride the Romsdal Gondola.
Day 13: Bergen
Visit Norway’s second biggest city, Bergen today. Stroll through the historical Bryggen district, home to colourful wharfs. Alternatively, you can ride the Floibanen funicular up to the top of Mount Fløyen for fantastic views of the city and the surrounding area
Day 14: Kristiansand
Spend the last afternoon of your cruise in Kristiansand, which sits on the southern tip of the country. Learn about its military past or its sustainability work on exciting optional excursion before returning to the ship for a farewell dinner.
Day 15: Oslo
Return to Oslo in the early morning and disembark the ship
Get a unique insight into the Northern Lights on a dedicated astronomy voyage. Following the same itinerary as the North Cape Line, you’ll be accompanied by an expert astronomer who will give onboard lectures and a tour of the night sky.
