An epic journey that showcases four of South America’s most iconic destinations, paired with an unforgettable cruise to the edge of Antarctica and around the southern tip of the continent. Discover vibrant cities, enjoy world-class wines, encounter penguins, and take in breathtaking landscapes, immersing yourself in rich culture both on land and at sea.

Days 1-2: Arrive in Rio de Janeiro
Fly overnight to Rio de Janeiro. On arrival, transfer to your hotel before having the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3: Explore Rio
Spend the morning exploring the city’s most iconic landmarks. Drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon to the Corcovado where you’ll take the train through the rainforest to the foot of Christ the Redeemer. Enjoy the views of the city before heading to a local restaurant. The rest of the day is at leisure at the hotel before heading out for dinner.

Day 4: Sugar Loaf Mountain
Head up to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain in a glass cable car today. In the evening, embark on a Boteco food tour, during which you’ll taste traditional snacks paired with ice cold beer.

Day 5: Travel to Iguazu
Depart Rio and transfer to the airport for a flight to Foz do Iguacu. On arrival, head into the Iguazu National Park which spans the border between Brazil and Argentina. Here you’ll get your first look at Iguazu Falls. Board a glass elevator down to a viewing platform for views of the Devil’s Throat. Then, cross the border into Argentina.

Day 6: More Iguacu
Explore the Argentinian side of the falls, wandering trails that give you views closer to the smaller falls. In the evening, enjoy ‘The Argentine Experience’ where you’ll learn key phrases in Spanish and dine on Argentinean food and drink.

Day 7: Fly to Buenos Aires
Fly to Argentina’s capital. On arrival, begin exploring the city, including a ‘tango in the park’ experience where you can watch couples dancing outside in the city park.

Day 8: Visit the Pampas
Spend the day outside the city on the grasslands known as the pampas as you visit a traditional ranch (an estancia). Here’s you’ll learn about the life of a guacho. After a typical asado lunch, watch a fun folklore show. This evening, experience a tango show with dinner.

Day 9: Board the Norwegian Star
Transfer to the cruise port and board the Norwegian Star. The rest of the day is free to settle into your cabin and begin exploring the ship and its facilities.

Day 10: Cruise – Montevideo*
Arrive in the capital of Uruguay today. There’s plenty to explore in the city, or take a tour of a winery or head outside of the city to soak up the incredible landscapes.

Spend the day enjoying the facilities onboard the cruise ship.

Day 12: Cruise – Puerto Madryn*
Today’s port of call is the gateway to Argentinian Patagonia, a great place for spotting wildlife.

Day 14: Cruise – Falklands Islands*
Dock in Port Stanley, the capital of the Falkland Islands. Here you could explore the town or head out in search of penguins.

Day 16: Cruise – Elephant Island
Cruise to Elephant Island off the coast of Antarctica today, where you may spot its population of elephant seals and penguins while enjoying breathtaking views of mountains (Please not that you will not disembark the ship today)

Day 17: Cruise – Paradise Bay
Admire the dramatic scenery of Paradise Bay today from the comfort of the ship. (Please not that you will not disembark the ship today)

Day 18: Cruise – At Sea
Sail back towards South America, making the most of the entertainment on offer onboard the ship.

Day 19: Cruise – Ushuaia*
Arrive in the world’s southernmost city today, with plenty of nature to explore while here.
Days 20-21: Cruise – At Sea
Over the next two days, sail around the bottom of the South American continent.

Day 22: Cruise – Puerto Montt*
Arrive in Chile’s Lake District as you call at Puerto Montt, where you can admire Osorno Volcano and visit some of the nearby lakes and waterfalls.

Enjoy a final day at sea to make the most of the onboard facilities.

Day 24: Arrive in Santiago
Disembark the Norwegian Star this morning and meet your guide. Then transfer to your hotel before heading on a tour of the city, before ascending San Cristobal Hill where you might be able to see the Andes.

Day 25: Maipo Valley
Today, head into the Maipo Valley, the heart of wine production in Chile. Enjoy a full day experience to admire its breathtaking landscapes and take guided tours and wine tasting at two estates.

Day 26: Fly to Cusco
Transfer to the airport and fly to Cusco. From here, travel into the Sacred Valley, visiting the Manos de la Comunida to watch local artisan make traditional crafts. Continue to Pisac.

Day 27: The Sacred Valley
Spend the day exploring the sights of Sacred Valley. Begin at Moray, where you’ll views its innovative circular terraces before seeing the Salt Pans of Maras. Later, walks through the Santuario de Colibries to spot hummingbirds. Finally, visit Ollantaytambo.

Day 28: To Machu Picchu
Head to the train station to board the Expedition train to Aguas Calientes, a journey that takes you through dramatic valleys. On arrival, board a bus to the entrance of Machu Picchu, which you’ll explore on a guided tour.

Day 29: Return to Cusco
Enjoy a morning at leisure in Aguas Calientes before taking the Vistadome train back to Ollantaytambo. Transfer to Cusco.

Day 30: Explore Cusco
Today, explore Cusco on a guided tour, starting at the fortress of Sacsayhuman. Then, wander through the San Pedro Market before visiting Qoricancha, a temple dedicated to the Incan sun god. Finally, take a tour of Cusco Cathedral before having the afternoon at leisure. End the day with a special dinner.

Day 31: Fly to Lima
Transfer to Cusco and board a flight to Lima. On arrival, tour the city to see its colonial buildings and admire the exhibits at the Larco Museum to learn about Peru’s history.

Fly from Lima to the UK, arriving home the same or following day.
