While onshore landings are included on all expedition cruises to the Arctic, there is also a selection of optional activities for those wanting to make the most of their time here.
In Iceland, you can travel from Akureyi to see the Goðafoss waterfall before relaxing in the Mývatn Nature Baths. Alternatively, you can take a snowcat tour to the Snæfellsjökul volcano.
While visiting Greenland, you may wish to take part in a tradition Greenlandic social gathering or visit the Upernaviarsuk Agricultural Research station, and learn about the island’ss fauna.
All optional activities and excursions are at an extra cost.
While there is no shortage of activities to take part in during your expedition, you may wish to spend some more time getting to know your destination. You can explore Iceland’s capital Reykjavik and venture around the golden circle before your cruise or take a full day tour of the south coast after your expedition.
