Hurtigruten’s Original Voyages

The Original Coastal Express

Sailing through out the year, this 12-day voyage takes you from Bergen to Kirkenes and back, calling at 34 ports. The time you spend in port varies between 10 minutes and 4 hours. Please note that flights are not included as standard.

The Coastal Express – Flight and Tours

Want to experience more of Norway while on your voyage? The Coastal Express flights and tours offer the same voyages, paired with inclusive flights, hotels, and tours. Sail between Finland and Norway to follow the Northern Lights, or back in the Midnight Sun and experience the scenic Flam Railway.

The Coastal Express – Short Voyages

Along with the roundtrip and half voyages, you can travel shorter distances. Sailing for the between 3 and 5 days, these short voyages are ideal for those with less time or wish to sail on a select section of the route for a tailormade trip.

The Seasons

Will you visit in spring when there’s both sun and snow to enjoy? Or will you arrive in autumn when the coastal forests turn crimson and gold? During this season,  Hurtigruten ships also make a detour to Hjørundfjord, hidden amid the Sunnmøre Alps.

Between late May and early August, north of the Arctic Circle is the realm of the Midnight Sun, where you can experience 24 hours of glorious summer sunshine. These are also the months when Hurtigruen sail into Geirangerfjord, one of Norway’s eight UNESCO World Heritage sites.

In winter, Norway’s dark skies create a perfect backdrop for the legendary Northern Lights. Your ship will serve as a floating observatory, far from land’s light pollution, traveling into the Arctic and directly under the consistently active Auroral Oval.
