Red undulating sand dunes with ripples and mountains loom over the Namibian desert. But it is the wildlife that really impresses here, Damaraland is a wonderful place to see desert-adapted elephants and lions. Over in the Caprivi Strip, the wildlife is returning, with Bwabwata and Nkasa Rupara becoming wonderfully rich parks to explore. There are also private reserves (Okonjima and Erindi premier among them) as well as game farms that serve as havens for rescued wildlife.
Visit the dead-tree valleys at Sossusvlei, the Naukluft Mountains, the Brandberg, Spitzkoppe, Damaraland and the awe-inspiring Fish River Canyon. The diverse landscapes of Namibia offer rivers and wetlands in the Caprivi Strip and the grass plains of the Kalahari. Residing in these beautiful landscapes is an abundance of wildlife. In Etosha National Park you will find hippos, meerkats, lions, giraffe, zebras, elephants, black rhinos and cheetahs.
