Whilst some people may assume that winter sun has to be long haul, many people forget about the Canary Islands. From around 4 hours from the UK, you can be just off the coast of Africa and leave behind your European winter blues. Although technically a part of Spain, the Islands enjoy a warmer winter with average lows of 20°C in January, making these sun-kissed islands the perfect winter sun destination.
