Elephants wander along seasonal migration routes and chimpanzees swing through the treetops in Tanzania. The energetic wildlife and abundance of national parks make this the perfect place for a safari.
Take a boat safari down the Rufiji River past snoozing crocodiles in Selous Game Reserve; watch giraffes in Ruaha National Park, and see lions just feet from your jeep in Ngorongoro Crater. Mt Kilimanjaro beckons visitors with forested flanks and snow-capped summit. It is Africa’s highest peak and one of the world’s highest free-standing mountains.
BEST TIME TO VISIT:
The best time to visit the Serengeti is January – March, when grazing animals are calving and there are plenty of lions around. The vast animal migrations, which occur at the onset of the dry season and again with the first rains, are one of nature’s greatest spectacles.
