Day 1: Fly to Delhi

Overnight flight from London to DelhI (regional connections available).

Day 2: Delhi

Arrive in Delhi and transfer to the Taj Palace for 2 nights. Late afternoon tour of Old Delhi exploring Chandni Chowk by cycle rickshaw. Welcome dinner at the Haveli Dharampura in Old Delhi.

Day 3: Delhi

Morning visit to the President’s Palace for the Changing of the Guard ceremony. Continue on your tour of New Delhi visiting the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun and the Qutb Minar tower. Afternoon at leisure – perhaps explore one of Delhi’s many markets or simply relax at the hotel.

Day 4: Agra

Drive to Agra. In the afternoon, visit the Agra Fort. Stay overnight at the Taj Convention Centre.

Day 5: Fatehpur Sikri • Ranthambore

Early morning sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal. After breakfast, drive to the deserted sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri. Continue to the train station and travel by train to Sawai Madhopur for 2 nights at Dev Vilas. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 6: Ranthambore

Morning and afternoon wildlife viewing. Look out for tigers, sloth bears, marsh crocodiles, wild boar, leopards, deer and an array of prolific birdlife.

Day 7: Jaipur

After breakfast, drive to the pink city of Jaipur. Afternoon at leisure. Stay 2 nights at Shahpura House (or similar).

Day 8: Jaipur

This morning visit the palace of Amber Fort which displays many examples of Mughal influenced architecture. In the afternoon visit the City Palace.

Day 9: Pushkar • Deogarh

Morning departure for Deogarh visiting Pushkar and its temples and markets en route. Stay 2 nights at the Deogarh Mahal, a former palace and now a superb heritage hotel. Afternoon at leisure. Evening cookery demonstration.

Day 10: Deogarh

This morning take a scenic ride on Deogarh’s metre-gauge train passing waterfalls, lush landscapes and rural life. In the afternoon, there is an option to go on a jeep safari visiting local Bishnoi tribal villages.

Day 11: Ranakpur • Udaipur

Drive to Udaipur, set on the shores of Lake Pichola and arguably Rajasthan’s most picturesque city. Visit the magnificent Jain temples at Ranakpur en route. Stay 2 nights at Fateh Niwas.

Day 12: Udaipur

Enjoy a guided tour of the beautiful lakeside town of Udaipur including the magnificent City Palace,  the Jagdish Temple and the Garden of the Maid’s Honour. End the tour with a cruise on the lake. This evening enjoy a farewell dinner overlooking Lake Fateh Sagar.

Day 13: Fly to Delhi

Morning at leisure. Afternoon flight from Udaipur to Delhi for an overnight stay at Vivanta New Delhi Dwarka.

Day 14: Fly to London

Transfer to the airport for the flight to London.

Deogarh Mahal, Deogarh

Deogarh Mahal, a unique family residence, overlooks the delightful village of Deogarh in the Aravalli Hills. This exquisite property is owned and lived in by the ruling family, who play an active part in the running of the hotel. The 60 rooms and suites, all with modern attached facilities, are individually decorated with stained glass, sumptuous colourful fabrics and antiques, each shaped and furnished in traditional style. The accommodation and facilities are laid out over several floors; there are no lifts and access between the various facilities is via a series of stairways.

Shahpura House, Jaipur

Originally the residence of the scions of the Shekhawat clan of Rajputs, Shahpura House is set in a relatively quiet residential area in downtown Jaipur. Fateh Niwas, Udaipur

Situated in Udaipur, just 2.5km from Lake Pichhola, Fateh Niwas is a luxury boutique hotel with spacious and elegant guestrooms. Both the swimming pool and the restaurant are located on the rooftop of the property offering fantastic views of the City Palace, Lake Pichola and the Aravalli Hills. The restaurant serves both Indian and continental dishes.

Goa – 5 days, 4 nights

Finish your tour with a 4-night beach extension staying at the Beleza by the Beach in the former Portuguese colony of Goa, with its long, idyllic beaches lined with palm trees.

Day 13 – To Goa
Fly to Goa via Mumbai. Transfer to Beleza by the Beach for a 4-night stay.

Days 14-16 – Goa
Spend three days at leisure

Day 17 – Fly home
Transfer to the airport and fly via Mumbai to the UK.
