Day 1: Fly to Delhi

Fly overnight from London to Delhi. (No meals)

Day 2: Delhi • Agra

Gather at Delhi Safdarjung railway station to board the Maharajas’ Express. Head to Agra where you’ll visit the Taj Mahal before returning to the train. There are also optional activities such as a spa visit, a theatre performance or a guided tour of Agra. (Lunch and dinner)

Day 3: Agra • Ranthambore

Disembark in the morning to visit Agra Fort. Return to the train for breakfast before heading to Ranthambore, where you’ll enjoy an open-top safari drive through the National Park. Return to the train for dinner before heading to Jaipur. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 4: Jaipur

Disembark on a guided tour of the city including a visit to the Amber Fort. In the afternoon, there are a number of optional activities available including a spa visit, an excursion to Jantar Mantar observatory or a private tour of the city. You’ll then be an dinner at the Rambagh Palace before you board the train towards Bikaner. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 5: Bikaner

Arrive to Bikaner for an optional city tour. After lunch, you’ll visit Junagarh Fort. Later, you’ll head into the sand dunes for a barbecue and folk performances. This evening, the train will continue onto Jodhpur. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 6: Jodhpur

The morning is a leisure. You may stay on the train or head off on one of the optional experience. After lunch, you’ll explore Mehrangarh Fort. This evening, enjoy an exclusive cocktail evening before boarding the train and heading to Udaipur. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 7: Udaipur

Head on a tranquil boat ride on Lake Pichola then tour the City Palace, the region’s largest palace complex. For lunch, feast on a spread of Indian delicacies in Satkar Hall within Fateh Prakash Palace. The rest of the day will be spent travelling to Mumbai. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 8: Disembark in Mumbai

Following a leisurely morning on board, you’ll disembark the Maharajas’ Express in Mumbai. (Breakfast and lunch)

Day 9: Fly to London via Mumbai

Fly home on an early-morning flight
