On this classic India tour, you will have the chance to experience different sides of Indian culture; from the contrasts of Old and New Delhi, to the historic city of Agra, trying to spot the tigers in Ranthambore and exploring the beautiful palaces and architecture of Jaipur.

During the Taj, Temples and Tigers tour, you’ll also be able explore the observatory at Jantar Mantar, try hand blocking printing and take an exciting rickshaw ride through Old Delhi.

Days 1-2: Fly to Delhi
Fly overnight to Delhi. Depending on your time of arrival, the rest of the day is yours to spend as you wish

Day 3: Discover Dehli
Spend a full day exploring the sights of Old and New Delhi: drive past the colossal Red Fort, visit India’s largest mosque, Jama Masjid, and take a rickshaw to Asia’s largest spice market.

Day 4: Agra
Journey to Agra this morning. On arrival, head to the red sandstone Agra Fort. In the evening, enjoy a live musical show – Mohabbat the Taj.

Day 5: Taj Mahal
Today you will see India’s most iconic sight. At dawn, when the crowds are at their thinnest, the Taj Mahal is often swathed in mist and tinged pink by the rising sun – a magical experience. You’ll then travel to Ranthambore National Park, home of the Bengal tigers!

Day 6: Ranthambore
Explore Ranthambore National Park in search of the tigers with early morning and afternoon jeep safaris. There are over 50 tigers in the park as well as leopards, sloth bears and over 300 species of wild bird.

Day 7: Travel to Jaipur
Travel from Ranthambore to Jaipur. On arrival, check into your hotel before enjoying a turban tying experience before the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 8: Visit Amber Fort
Begin the day with a brief stop at the Hawa Mahal, the ‘Palace of the Winds’, before travelling out of the city to admire the majestic Amber Fort. In the afternoon, explore the Maharaja’s City Palace and the Jantar Mantar Observatory, as well as learning about the local art of block printing.

Day 9: Delhi
Travel back to Delhi for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Fly Delhi to UK
Fly to the UK, arriving home the same or following day.

Learn astronomy the ancient way at Jaipur’s fascinating Jantar Mantar, an 18th-century observatory full of old instruments used to measure the distance and positions of celestial objects.

Hand Printing Class
Venture into the old alleyways of Jaipur to try your hand at block printing, the practice of hand printing textiles with a carved wooden block, a traditional art of the city.

Old Delhi Rickshaw Ride
Take an exciting rickshaw ride through Asia’s largest spice market, in Old Delhi, absorbing the heady scents and colourful sights of some of the world’s most exotic powders, leaves, roots and seeds.
