Days 1-2: Fly Overnight to Osaka
Fly overnight to Osaka. On arrival, the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Discover Nara
Start the day with a visit to Osaka Castle before heading to nearby Nara. Here you’ll enjoy a walk through Nara Park to the Todai-ji Temple, followed by some time to admire the Isui-en Gardens. Then, return to Osaka

Day 4: Arashiyama Bamboo Forest
Drive to Kyoto this morning. On arrival, visit Togetsukyo Bridge and stroll through the immense Arashiyama bamboo forest. Then, visit Ryoan-ji to see the famous zen garden and Kinkaku-ji Temple before free time to explore at your own pace.

Day 5: Experience Kyoto
Start the day by visiting one of the city’s most famous shrines, Fushimi Inari Shrine, famed for its 10,000 torii gates. Later, watch a tea ceremony and try your hand at making origami. After lunch, take part in a fan painting class.

Day 6: Matsumoto
Take a train to Matsumoto. On arrival, visit a miso house to learn about this famous seasoning. After lunch, explore Matsumoto Castle.

Day 7: Search for Snow Monkeys
This morning, drive to Yudanaka to visit Jigokudani Monkey Park. Here you’ll take a gentle trek to reach the hot spring where you might get the chance to see the Japanese Macaques bathing in the water. Return to Matsumoto, stopping in Nagano to visit a local sake brewery on the way.

Day 8: Mount Fuji
Travel by road to the Fuji Five Lakes area. Ascend by road to the 5th Station to view Mt Fuji (weather permitting). Then, enjoy a peaceful cruise on Lake Ashi before heading up the Komagatake Ropeway to enjoy the breathtaking scenery below. Continue to Mishima and stay overnight.

Day 9: Kamakura Grand Buddha
Journey to Kamakura on the coast. Visit Kotoku-in Temple, which houses Japan’s second tallest bronze buddha statue, followed by a stroll through Komachi Street to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, a shrine dedicated to the god of samurai. Later, continue to Tokyo.

Day 10: Discover Tokyo
Begin the day by ascending to the observation deck at the Tokyo Skytree for panoramic views over the city. Next, head to the old district of Asakusa and soak up the atmosphere at Senso-ji, Tokyo’s oldest and most famous temple, before browsing the stalls on Nakamise shopping street. After lunch, explore the Tokyo National Museum to learn about Tokyo’s historical heritage. End the day with a cruise on the waters of Tokyo Bay and enjoy dinner.

Day 11: Fly Tokyo to UK
Fly to the UK, arriving home the same or following day.
