This is the ideal tour for those who wish to combine the wonders of Thailand in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Chiang with the landlocked treasures of Laos. Laos is a peaceful country dominated by incredible mountains, stunning scenery and thundering waterfalls, whereas Thailand is known for its temples, palaces and floating markets.

Days 1-2: Fly to Bangkok
Fly overnight to Bangkok. On arrival you will be met by your expert tour guide and transferred to your hotel. You have the rest of the day to explore this amazing city.
Day 3: Discover Bangkok
Sightseeing includes a visit to Wat Pho and the Grand Palace, with its colourful temples and golden stupas. You’ll also enjoy a ride in a long tail boat along the Chao Phraya River to Pak Klong Talaat Flower Market followed by a stroll through Chinatown.
Day 4: Floating Market
Visit the Damneon Saduak floating Market and the Railway Track Market. Later, board the overnight train to Chiang Mai.
Day 5: Explore Chiang Mai by cyclo
Arrive in Chiang Mai and visit he city’s biggest market, Talat Warorod, for a stroll among the colourful stalls as well. Later, visit Wat Dai Suthep in time for sunset. In the evening, enjoy a performance of ancient dances and songs from northern Thailand and visit the colourful night market.
Day 6: H mong Hill Tribes Lodge
Travel to a small village, home to the h mong hill Tribes where you’ll stay overnight and enjoy a BBQ dinner and a cultural show.
Day 7: Chiang Mai Countryside
Visit the Chiang Dao Elephant Camp and experience an elephant ride and gentle bamboo river rafting along the MÅ Ping River. Transfer to Thaton and board a long tail boat on MÅ Kok River to Baan Pha Tai, where you’ll continue by road to Chiang Rai.
Day 8: Chiang Rai
Explore the laidback, small town charm of Chiang Rai, visiting the eccentric White Temple and Doi Mae Salong.
Day 9: Mekong River
Transfer to the Thai-Laos border and climb aboard a boat to cruise along the Mekong taking in the scenery as you go. Stop at Pakbeng with time to visit the village of Ban Houei Lumpane before settling in for the night.
Day 10: Cruise to Luang Prabang
Back on the river, continue your leisurely cruise down to the beautiful city of Luang Prabang, stopping at the fascinating Pak Ou Caves, a riverside cavern that is full of statues of Buddha that can no longer be used for worship.
Day 11: Explore Luang Prabang
An enchanting city, Luang Prabang is the quintessential image of Laos – a place of vivid colours with an extremely rich heritage and enduring French legacy. Visit Ban Xang Khong craft village where you can see Sa Paper and local handcraft production. Take a city tour, seeing sights including Wat Visoun and Wat Xieng Thong. Later, spend some time at a local wat, chatting with the friendly monks who love to practice their English.
Day 12: Villages & Waterfalls
Arise early to watch a Takbat Alms Giving Ceremony and visit the National Museum. You’ll then travel to the Kuang Si Waterfalls and visit an H mong Village. Return to Luang Prabang stopping at Ock Pop Tok Weaving Centre along the way.
Day 13: Fly to Vientiane
Catch a flight to Laos’ capital city, Vientiane.
Day 14: Discover Vientiane
Sightseeing includes a visit to Thongkhankham Market, Wat Si Saket, Wat Phra Keo, Pha That Luang Stupa and Patuxai Victory Monument. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Lao dinner followed by a dance show.
Day 15: Fly Vientiane to UK
Enjoy a free morning in Vientiane, before catching an overnight flight to the UK via Bangkok.
Day 16 – Arrive back in the UK
You’ll spend 13 nights in 3+/4* accommodations

Most Wendy Wu groups consist of 10 travellers or more and will be accompanied by a national escort. There will usually be no more than 28 travellers in each group although you may encounter other Wendy Wu tour groups while you are travelling.
This tour has a physical rating of 2. A reasonable level of fitness is required, as you’ll be spending time on your feet and doing a bit of walking to cover short distances during your daily sightseeing. There will also be some climbing of steps and climbing on and off of coaches and boats.
