Days 1-2: Fly to Saigon
Fly overnight to Saigon. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Cu Chi Tunnels and Saigon
Contemplate the horrors of guerrilla warfare at the astonishing Cu Chi Tunnels before returning to Saigon. Visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, Central post office, reunification palace and the War Remnants Museum.

Days 4: Mekong Delta Cruise
Travel to Ben Tre and cruise on the Mekong river to explore the Delta, the rice basket of Vietnam. Travel through palm-lined canals on wooden sampans passing stilt houses and fish farms. Later on, enjoy a typical Mekong lunch, before you travel to Can Tho where you’ll stay overnight.

Day 5: Floating markets
Visit the Cai Rang floating market to see the goods on sale and learn how vermicelli rice noodles are made. Return to Saigon.

Day 6: Dalat Hill Station
Head up into the highlands to reach the hill town of Dalat, a former colonial retreat beloved for its cooler climate and picturesque scenery. En route, stop at a tea plantation to hear about tea cultivation in Bao Loc.

Days 7: The City of Flowers
Visit the Domaine de Marie Church, the Flower Gardens and an embroidery workshop before boarding an open-air train to journey out through the fantastic scenery of Trai Mat village. End the day with a local coffee by Xuan Huong Lake

Day 8: Nha Trang Island Cruise
Take the road down from the highlands and along the coast to Nha Trang, Vietnam’s beach capital. Board a boat for a cruise around the bay’s many islands, with the chance to enjoy a swim.

Day 9: Visit the Cham Towers
Take some time to wander the Dam market and visit the Po Nagar Cham Towers. Then, drive to the city of Qui Nhon where you spend the night.

Day 10: Son My 
The Son My area saw some of the most horrific crimes of the Vietnam War – the My Lai massacre. Visit the memorial placed in honour of the victims. Continue on to Hoi An.

Day 11: Hoi An Walking Tour
Take a morning walking tour of charming Hoi An – a wonderfully laidback and traditional town that has managed to retain the charms of a bygone era. Visit a lovely old-style house, the Japanese Bridge, a Chinese temple and the market before an afternoon at leisure.

Day 12 : Royal Tomb of Minh Mang
Travel to Hue via the scenic Hai Van Pass and discover the former imperial capital. Visit the elegant Royal Tomb of Minh Mang, set among tranquil gardens, lakes and over 40 historic monuments.

Day 13: Hue’s Imperial Citadel
Explore the impressive Imperial Citadel and Forbidden Purple City, then cruise the Perfume River to visit An Hien House and the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda.(Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 14: Old Quarter Cyclo Tour
Fly to Hanoi, Vietnam’s charming capital, and visit the Fine Arts Museum before exploring the atmospheric Old Quarter by cyclo. End the day with Hanoi’s famous egg coffee.

Day 15: Discover Hanoi
Follow in Ho Chi Minh’s footsteps on a walking tour of Hanoi, visiting his Mausoleum, Presidential Palace and stilt house. Continue to the historic One Pillar Pagoda and the elegant Temple of Literature.

Day 16-17: Halong Bay Junk Cruise
Cruise through the stunning scenery of Halong Bay, with opportunities to swim, kayak and explore its caves before an overnight stay onboard.
