Known locally as the ‘Diamond of the Alps’, Obergurgl is one of Austria’s most famous and sought-after ski resorts. Set high at the end of the picturesque Ötz Valley, the ski area boasts a great snow record, usually stretching from November right through until May – one of the longest ski seasons in Austria. This is due to the village being one of the highest in Europe, at 1,930m. Perfectly prepared pistes, varied powder terrain, a modern lift system, excellent ski schools, minimal waiting time, and cosy restaurants serving up culinary delights with spectacular alpine views – Obergurgl has all the ingredients for an unforgattable ski holiday.  lmost all of the ski area sits above 2,000m (and above the tree line), so the wide, uncrowded slopes are ideal for beginners and intermediates to perfect their technique.

Obergurgl is a family-orientated, sun-soaked ski resort and is a small, traditional village set around an early 18th-century church and the resort’s original inn.  The centre of the village is pedestrianised.  For apres-ski with a twist, why not pay a visit to the world’s highest motorcycle museum, with more than 230 historic exhibits, including the world’s oldest motorbike.
