A buzzy, cosmopolitan resort in a splendid location, St Anton lives up to its reputation as the place for big skiing, soft snow and serious nightlife. Perched up high in the Arlberg region of Austria’s Tyrolean Alps, St Anton is a delightful mix of old and new, with inviting shops lining a pedestrianised main street.

With an excellent snow record, legendary off-piste and lively apres-ski, St Anton is a favourite resort for many seasoned campaigners.  Beginners and intermediates are well catered for, but there are many fantastic runs that will challenge even advanced skiers, not to mention the 200kms of off-piste itineraries.  There’s also a fun park with kickers, natural pipes, corners and spines.  The resort is part of Ski Arlberg, the largest ski area in Austria, that also comprises Lech, Zurs and Warth-Schrocken.

St Anton claims to be the home of apres-ski.  Two of the more notorious bars are the Mooserwirt, which sells more beer than any other bar in the Alps, and the Krazy Kanguruh, the perfect place to end up after an exhilarating day’s skiing.  Other, more sedate apres-ski activities include paragliding, cross country skiing, tobogganing and snow shoeing.
