The region’s local wines – rich reds and crisp whites – are well worth sampling and are available in the hotel bars and restaurant. Neilson’s team will be happy to recommend a favourite. And to end the day, don’t miss a sundowner at the Skybar, where the views are truly unforgettable.

Local Cuisine:
Croatia holidays aren’t just about sightseeing – they’re also perfect for relaxing with great local food and wine. Expect Mediterranean flavours with strong Italian influence and plenty of sun-ripened produce.
Most towns have at least one excellent pizzeria, and regional dishes vary as you travel. Along the coast, seafood is a highlight: fish is often grilled, but you’ll also find dishes like fresh salads and black risotto coloured with squid ink.
Meat is typically grilled or cooked over wood fires or charcoal BBQs. For something sweet, try fritule – small deep-fried dough balls flavoured with lemon and a splash of schnapps. And wherever you dine, don’t miss Croatian wine; many family-run vineyards produce outstanding bottles.

Enjoy an easy stroll from the Beach Club along the seafront promenade to the village of Starigrad, a laid-back spot with a small selection of waterfront restaurants and a strong local feel. Just 2 km away, Paklenica National Park is an absolute must-see and easily accessible from the Beach Club.
An excursions agency at reception can help you plan days out, including trips to Krka National Park with its seven cascading waterfalls, the spectacular Plitvice Lakes with 16 lakes and 92 waterfalls, or a kayak safari on the Zrmanja River, one of Europe’s most beautiful rivers.
A little further afield, the historic walled port of Zadar is around 45 minutes away. Wander the old town, where Roman ruins meet Venetian-style churches, and enjoy excellent dining around the marina and historic centre – perfect for non-inclusive evenings. Please note that many local bars and restaurants are cash only. ATMs are available, but exchange rates are poor, so it is recommend that you bring some euros with you.
