Enjoy a leisurely start with time to explore the pretty town of Mainz, known for its stunning Romanesque cathedral and timber-clad buildings, sitting in the very scenic heart of Germany’s famous winelands. Your cruise along the Main, takes you firstly to peaceful Miltenberg, a fantastically well-preserved village set against a spectacular backdrop of lush green forests and rolling hillsides.

Then it’s on to delightful Wertheim, off the well-trodden tourist trail, its ancient castle standing proud over the colourful market square below. Further wonders are uncovered as the ship arrives in Wurzburg, an elegant Bavarian city, crowned by the stunning Baroque palace, a relic of a bygone age. Take the Romantic Road to Rothenburg on an optional tour for spectacular views of the river winding through the hills. The beauty of Bamberg never fails to enchant as the cruise arrives in undoubtedly one of Europe’s most beautiful historic towns.

Day 1: Arrival in Mainz
Arrive at Frankfurt Airport and take a coach to the ship. Settle into your cabin before enjoying your first dinner onboard.

Day 2: Mainz
Spend the morning exploring Mainz on a guided tour. See its cathedral and churches as well as the Gutenberg Museum, home to two 1455 Bibles. You can also seek out traditional taverns to try the region’s local offerings of wine and beer before returning to the ship in the afternoon

Day 3: Miltenberg & Wertheim
This morning, enjoy a tour of Miltenberg. You can choose between a standard walking tour or a shorted orientation tour if you want more free time. Back on board the ship, enjoy lunch before watching a glassblowing demonstration. The ship then stops in Wertheim where you’ll take a walking tour of the town. Alternatively, join a more active tour to the castle.

Day 4: Würzberg
Enjoy the facilities onboard the ship in the morning before docking in Würzberg. Take a guided tour to see the Baroque Residenz, originally designed to rival Versailles. You could also visit the Marienberg Fortress during your free time before you return to the ship for dinner.

Day 5: Rothenburg & Ochsenfurt
After breakfast, drive to Rothenberg along the Romantic Road. On arrival, take a guided tour before some free tim. From here, travel to Ochsenfurt. Explore the picturesque town with a guide.

Day 6: Bamberg
Spend another morning at leisure onboard the ship. In the afternoon, arrive in the UNESCO site of Bamberg. Discover its history and architectural wonders as you wander the Old Town. Leaving Bamberg, join the Main-Danube canal for the cruise to Nuremberg. Enjoy the Chef’s Dinner tonight.

Day 7: Nuremberg
Your final morning onboard is spent cruising along the Main to reach Nuremberg. You have the choice of two tours this afternoon. The first focuses on the city’s medieval history, taking a panoramic couch tour, ending in a visit to the imperial Nuremberg Castle before time at leisure. The second tour focuses on WWII, visiting the rally grounds used by the Nazi Party and passing the courthouse where the Nuremberg trails were conducted. Then, make a short visit to the Castle and take a guided walk of the key medieval landmarks.

Day 8: Return Home
Transfer to Munich Airport for your flight home
